Lo siento que no yo "post" más frecuentemente.

Tengo preguntas:
1. ¿Habrá "Mario Party 4" por el GameCube? Si es posible, cuando es "about to be released", por favor me da "screenshots".
2. ¿Conoces a alguien que juega Paper Mario por el Nintendo 64 y habla español? (on a different bulletin board?) Frecuentemente necesito ayuda y quiero hablar ("talk" in the sense of discuss) de ese juego.

2. I\'m not a native Spanish speaker. I just want an opportunity to practice the Spanish that I know. Here\'s an example of what I mean:
Tengo problemas con vencer el Bowser último (en Mario de Papel). Las statísticas(?) de Mario son 45 Puntos de Corazón, 45 Puntos de Flor y 30 Puntos de Insignia. (etcétera)

Also, is it O.K. to use the derived verb "postear" to mean posting in forums? Is this verb regular?

The verb "postear" I don\'t think really exist in Spanish. However we do use it. The right way to mean posting in Spanish is "escribir un mensaje" But don\'t use it:D

Bueno, ya está; he perdido 40.000 pelas, pero la cosa ya vuelve a funcionar. Me alegro de veros de nuevo .

La verdad es que no hay mucho que comentar( ya sabemos cómo está últimamente el asunto de las noticias), pero espero que las cosas se vayan animando durante la semana.
Por ahora, lo más interesante es la tremenda bajada del precio de la PS2 que se espera por Europa para este mismo Viernes; nada más y nada menos que de 69.900 ptas. a 49.900 ptas. Toda una señora bajada que disparará las ventas de la PS2 durante la campaña navideña( especialmente cuando en Europa no tiene competencia). Una buena jugada por parte de Sony, por lo que he podido comprobar en la cara de los amigos a los que se lo he comentado .

¿Ya se sabe cuánto bajará por el resto de territorios, PS?.

I don\'t think it\'s fair for you to correct me when my Spanish practice is about a game that you have never played (Paper Mario for the N64). It seems that you have misinterpreted the sentence(s) not knowing that the Mario in this game was actually made out of paper (well, it\'s digital paper, but it looks like paper). Also, it\'s not fair to forbid me from using a derived verb that you yourself have used. Note that derived verbs seem to be rather common. In a television commercial, I have seen "to chat" translated as "chatear" when the correct verb (at least in Mexico and neighboring regions) is "charlar". I would like to clarify that I meant "use the verb ... in this thread and future threads like it only".

In the future, please reply in whatever language (English or Spanish) that I post in. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Edit: *100th post* In Paper Mario (which is an RPG), Heart Points are Mario\'s health, Flower Points are the energy used for special attacks, and Badge Points are the room available for equippable items. I hope this clears up any confusion. Also, I tend to ignore minor grammar errors in either English or Spanish when I post, under the assumption that users will be able to figure out what I mean.

OneGig, don\'t get mad . I just try to help. Sorry because I didn\'t know what Badge exactly mean. But if you want to speak in Spanish about a game that the other person don\'t knows you can\'t say "Tengo problemas con vencer el Bowser último" because Bowser is not Spanish. In the translation of "Paper Mario" I make a mistake, you were right. The correct translation is "Mario de Papel" (I don\'t know why I was thinking about that game call paperboy and I thought they were the same game. My mistake).

About the words "Postear" and "Chatear" What I try to tell you is that if, for example, you are in a Spanish exam and you use this words your teachers are going to give you a bad note cause this words don\'t exist in Spanish. But of course you can use them with us and other friends and you will hear them in a lot of places because we do use them however, I repeat, they don’t exist as words in Spanish and you wouldn’t find them on a dictionary .

Pues sobre una reducción del costo en la PS2 en América aun no hay nada:(. Esperemos que se de pronto un ajuste en el precio para que cuando salga la X-Box y el NGC Sony tenga una ventaja más sobre sus competidores. De todos modos les puedo casi asegurar que antes de que salgan a la venta estas 2 consolas Sony ya abra anunciado un recorte en sus precios.

Falgarok, con este recorte de precio la PS2 más o menos cuanto costara en España? Según mis calculos unos $300 USD?

En Estados Unidos la PS2 cuesta $300 USD y aquí en México anda más o menos alrededor de los $350 USD.

No, no es eso; creí que Adan te habría comentado algo. Por alguna razón, me han cobrado los gastos de llamada desde Junio( a pesar de que me habían confirmado la tarifa plana tras el cambio). En fin, que la broma me ha costado 40.000 pelas( unos $ 216 USD). Por supuesto, antes de poder decir ni pío, ya me lo habían quitado del banco. Vamos, es que son de simpáticos que se salen :rolleyes:.

De cualquier forma, yo tb estoy seguro de que lo bajarán antes del lanzamineto de NGC y X-BOX. Es la misma estrategia que siguieron con el lanzamiento de N64 hace unos años. Con la oferta de juegos que va a tener PS2 a finales de año y una buena bajada de precios, Sony puede quitarle gran parte del protagonismo a las recién llegadas durante la temporada navideña. Por lo que he oído, esta decisión le va a costar un buen pellizco a Sony, pero estoy más que seguro de que no será nada comparado con los beneficios( especialmente a largo plazo). Todos sabemos lo importante que es para el futuro de una consola el estar bien posicionada antes que sus rivales.

Contestándote, en España estaba a unos $378 USD( 69.900 pelas) y ha bajado hasta unos $270 USD ( 49.900 pelas). La respuesta de la gente por foros y demás está siendo muy buena, y mucha gente que estaba con dudas ya sabe lo que quiere debajo del árbol para Navidades .

PD: Prepárate, porque, dentro de un par de semanas, Sega mostrará la versión PS2 del último capítulo de la saga Virtua Fighter. Si, como dice Yu Suzuki, la versión doméstica supera ligeramente a la recreativa técnicamente, mucha gente va a tener que cambiar de opinión respecto a qué puede y qué no puede hacer la PS2 .

Derived Verbs: My point is that forums-quality Spanish is not the same as school/business-quality Spanish. I would never use derived verbs in a school/business assignment (not that I\'m old enough to need to express such a meaning in either type of assignment right now). That brings up another point: The reasons for my Spanish grammar errors are usually because I have a certain word, verb mood/tense, or grammatical construct on my mind and really want to use it.

Edit: Note that my ethnic background is Asian, not Hispanic. Most of my Spanish knowledge comes from studying Spanish dictionaries and textbooks.

Entonces has tenido que pagar por el tiempo que utilizaste el inet y la linea telefónica. Eso si que esta mal y las compañias de teléfonos no pierden oportunidad para aprovecharse de los clientes y sacarles plata:(.

Si, seguramente Sony tendra que ser agresivo con los precios del PS2 si quiere ganar la carrera de ventas en navidad. Tu piensas comprarte el NGC cuando salga Falgarok? Por lo que recuerdo eres bastante fan de nintendo. Yo la verdad es que si pienso comprar una para regalarmela de navidad:D. Desde luego que antes tendre que ver los juegos que estaran disponibles y ver si vale la pena comprarla o esperar.
