Like i posted in the other thread, this looks very cartoonish, SC wasn\'t like this... i think the biggest "beef" i have with the pics is the background in picture 1 ..

What a disappointment. I think SC on the DC looks better.

The DC version definitely didn\'t look better, but it\'s not that far away.

Phrase of day:

"I hate Namco!"

Or..

"It looks like crap!"

Pick your favorite one and apply it.

Tekken4 didn\'t look great by any means. I was hoping SC2 would and now it doesn\'t. Oh well, maybe they didn\'t screw with the gameplay.

Namco has released the first official screenshots from Soul Calibur 2. The screens are from the arcade version of the game, which is running on Sony\'s PS2-compatible system-246 arcade board. At this stage the game is quite early in development, but as reported Namco is expected to announce at today\'s Space World event that the company will port a version of the game to the Nintendo GameCube. GameSpot will be at the show and will bring you complete details

here\'s some shots of the DC version

I honestly can\'t say the textures in the DC version where much if any better, and the Arcade/PS2  version is still 6+ months off from release.

Like alot of PS2 games the high res textures and graphical improvements seem to come more towards the end of development.

The game is still 6+ months off

Nope, I think they look good too.  I don\'t know what everyone else is talking about.  They must be a little too jaded.

BTW, I think SC2 looks better than Metroid Prime (and probably, I\'m alone on that one. :))  Of course, we need to see more of each before we start criticizing.

I didn\'t think they looked bad either.

I think the ground textures in the 1st shot need definite improvement  but the characters are lookign pretty good

some of the background architexture needs improved texture work as well

the lighting in the 1st pic is kinda suspect too
definetly more polygons being used in SC2

but all this is kinda moot with a game 6+ months away
