Bad move by Nintendo..

Not true for the most part. The people interested in the GC are not interested in it because of 1) low price tag, 2) Nintendo Franchises and 3) Family oriented software titles. These three things are something both Sony and MS are lacking , so this small delay really won\'t effect Nintendo that much.

All the hardcore gamers/Nintendo fans will buy the system.. Im sure of that..

Well.. I can see a positive side of it aswell..
GC is releasing closer to x-mas.. Which means that they\'ll sell alot of systems..

But Xbox might still grab some potetial GC buyers..

I don\'t think it\'s the end of the world, i think it might even help hinder XBox sales... people might wait a couple days to see a GC in action before committing their $$$ to the XBox,...
slowing first week sales of XBox... ...
just my 2 Cents.

Its only 2 weeks for goodness sake. Xbox has a press conference on the 28th do you think they will announce a delay? If they are smart yes. There extreme lack of a killer app is killing them and they need more time to produce units. Thier hardware wasn\'t even finalized let alone in production until June. Nintendo has been producing them since April. If Microsoft sees this as anadvantage and goes with their Launch date anyway they might lose more customers than Nintendo. Picture it: MS decides to keep their launch date. After about a week there are almost no Xboxes to be found because they didn\'t produce enough. The next week all of the gamers who wanted to get an Xbox can now get a GCN instead and a truckload of games. Those people fall in love with some of Nintendo\'s launch games and the Nintendo hype machine rolls on.

On top of the delay, Starfox won\'t even be available @ launch. It being the main game that I wanted. Oh well. More time for MGS2 and Shenmue II!

Even if it does, I thought Nintendo wasn\'t in direct competition with Microsoft? Still, they have a huge fanbase, microsoft has none.

As it stands, there have been no signs of a X-Box delay. I\'m looking at things as they are right now.

MS will gain fanbase with their advertising campaign. Toys R\' US already houses numerous logos and ads, and I\'m sure other chains are doing the same. Most magazines and websites have a positive attitude toward MS, praising DOA3\'s graphics. Unfortunately, graphics and theme of a game play the most important factor for a casual gamer\'s purchase. In terms of grabbing people\'s attention, Nintendo has RL2; but what else do they have now?? Wave Race, Eternal Darkness, SSBM, Star Fox, and NBA Courtside 2002, five of Nintendo\'s major in-house titles have been pushed back from launch; the rest are third-party sports titles, and a lone contender, RL2 (One of only two launch games holding my interest). Monkey Ball will probably be a niche title. Nintendo is plagued by these problems while MS is flashing beautiful shots of Halo and Amped, with the bulk of Sega\'s support (Jet Grind Radio, Gun Valkyrie, and Panzer Dragoon).  Believe it or not, MS is getting attention.

Yeah make the Xbox seem so all-mighty.

Nintendo franchises, the 100$ price tag, the fact that people know and trust Nintendo, the fact that Xbox has no killer ap(and they know it), will all make a huge difference. And Xbox barely surpasses NGC with graphics. Seen Rogue Leader lately? No Xbox game looks that good.

You also didn\'t mention the fact that Xbox is fricken\' huge and NGC is launching in more than one colour. [/B]

Oh?? And how would you know that X-Box doesn\'t have any killer-aps?? On the same token, how would you know that the GC\'s titles are killer-aps?? You obviously haven\'t played them.

IMO, the XBox launch is leaps and beyond the GC\'s. Most of MS\'s launch titles are adventure and action with a moderate to intriguing story... games I can get into. There\'s not a Nintendo mascot in sight for the GC launch. There are only two exclusive titles; RL2 and Monkey Ball. Some people will like the graphics of RL2 better, and some people will like DOA3. I personally think they\'re neck and neck.

I posted this reply before news of the different colors. But you failed to mention that purple will be Nintendo\'s main color, that the X-Box will come with a HD and an option for DVD, with diversity in launch games. Size hardly matters.

A truckload of the few (good) available launch titles?  The xbox might not have a killer-app ready (DOA3 doesn\'t count now that tekken 4 is out ;) ) but it has enough games that 1 or 2 will surely manage to distinguish themselves.

The GC launch doesn\'t impress me nearly enough to even consider passing the xbox up.  IMO, if one the the consoles can wait it\'s the gamecube. All it looks to have is random crap, Rogue Leader, and Luigi.

That\'s being optimistic. People who wanted a X-Box will wait for a X-Box, just as they waited for the PS2 instead of getting a DC. As for the GC\'s launch games... RL2 alone just doesn\'t cut it for me... nor rolling monkeys in diapers. :)

How can most of you say Xbox doesn\'t have a Killer App

I consider Halo, Munch\'s Odysee, DOA3 killer Apps, and If not killer apps definitely Really Good games. Xbox will have close to 20 games at alunch. Game consumers like that

Heck the PS2 1 Killer App in SSX and a solid handful of really good and good  games and it didn\'t slow the PS2 down none

IMO Xbox is a MUCH better buy this November if you\'re comparing GC to Xbox. The PS2 still easily has the most to offer this holiday season Though
