Sega GT 2002 screens(XBOX)...

why did you buy it?

Cause I got caught in SONy\'s lies, I regreat buying one now with systems like XBOX and GameCube comming out.  i MEAN IT\'S A SHAME WHEN i OWNED A dc AND MY FIRST GEN PSX2 GAMES DIDN\'T EVEN LOOK BETTER, sheshhhhh

Dude XBOX is not perfect, it has it flaws like any other console, the only difference is it beats ps2 in every aspect. Better graphics, way, way better sound chip, alot more potential for better gameplay(due to the HDD) play\'s progressive dvd, has an ethernetport included with the system etc.......... it just beats PS2 out of the water plain and simple.

So yah My psx2 will get used for games like MGS2, GT3(which is getting quite boring, i mean I have GT2) devil may cry and maybe one other.

I don\'t. The only games I own for psx2 is GT3 and ssx. I will rent MGS2 and beat it and I probably buy devil may cry.

No see my point here was that psx2 was suppossed to be 10x times more powerful than DC, yet the DC games still graphically looked better than first gen psx2 games.  PS2 was all HYPE man!

Well, from the looks of it, Ogodly has proved you guys wrong again. Alterbeast is correct on his statements also, i fully belive what he said. Now as for GT3 being King, well, GT3 won\'t be king, because that game is a PATHETIC waste of money IMO. I\'d rather play TXRO, which is 10x more fun. GT3 gets dull after playing it for 2 hrs str8t. I\'m about to sell my copy. Now, back on Subject, Sega GT on XB looks awesome, but it is hard to say if the movie is actual gameplay, when it looks like PRE RENDERED to me. Who knows I\'m prolly wrong, and way to lazy to get a link about it. Anyways, Ogodly, i lost your Yahoopager name, can you get it to me?

I agree with darkgammer, I mean Ogodly get\'s **** on alot of the times just becuase he calls it like it is. People call him an xbox fanboy when in fact it\'s just the opposite. I come in these forums to read the threads everyday, and from what i have seen ogodly is one of the most level headed memebers here, and this is comming from a big time PS2 fan here. I have seen him complimetn may times the Gamecube and ps2 when deserved. Even though I love my PS2 I can at least admit that XBOX will put my system to shame both gameplay and graphic wise, espically when xbox get\'s well ground with it\'s second gen games, which should by then really be taking advantage of the HDD

oh well I will milk out my ps2 till xbox comes out.

As for SEGAGT, it will be intersting to see what the final product will look and play like. Oh and darkgammer those video are real-time and are not pre-rendered. Segagt is still in early development and those video\'s are a early build of the game.

Thats why I tell you.Sell it.Why give £300 for a console that has a couple of games that interest you while you can get an XBOX at the same price with more advandages and games you like.

But what you see now doesnt make up for its rushed release??GT3 was delayed for improvements and so are the newer games.

I prefer nintendo\'s philosophy too.But some games as launch titles were good.Like TTT.But only as launch titles.I was disapointed with some launch games too but because some developers were lazy didnt mean the PS2 couldnt do better or offer better in the future.

Online GT3 would be great.As you said though better do it right.I dont think it would  have been a wise decision if they rushed their online network.They could have delayed GT3 more though.But overdelayed I dont think would be wise either.

Nvidia: I almost took your post seriously until that statement. You can say all you want about how the X-box will have better graphics (it better and should) than the PS2, but gameplay? NOPE here is where you are wrong. The HDD in the xbox is used much more differently than the way pc games are used. MS will use the HDD to stream data on and off.  The built-in hard drive is one of the strongest features of the Xbox and will help take the world into a revolutionary gaming era

The HDD will make a big difference in gameplay, just imagine a game like shenmue on xbox and what sega can do with the hdd with a game like shenmue,  this is something sony can\'t touch and you can bet your ass SONY\'s next gen system will have a HDD built in. Therefore NVIDIA256 has a very strong point about how the HDD in the XBOX will change the way people game.

I couldn\'t care less what they say the HD will do or won\'t do. I\'ll believe it, and I will care, when I see them doing it. After all, Sony promised so many things with the PS2. If in the end they achieve what they promised, then more power to them. I hope it becomes a reality, a HD is a great addition to a console. However, promises are usually broken.

btw - the texture/data streaming doesn\'t equate to better gameplay IMO. Just prettier visuals. Now the idea of a world changing is something else. Regardless, if they don\'t use these revolutionary features in PC games, why would they in the console world? We have HDs in the PC world that can transfer ~100mb/sec and yet load times are still f\'cked up.

You have got to be kidding me right? The hardware is there, it\'s up for developers to use it. Some of the launch games for xbox are already using some of the HDD features, also most games already for the xbox are using the no load time feature. The HDD will be heavily taken advantage of with the second wave of next gen games. Developers right now aren’t taping it out to the max cause they have a deadline to meet for the xbox. It\'s like SONY\'s ps2, the first gen games were ****, Why? Cause dev\'s need more time to get familiar with the system and their games. I mean how to you think project ego is going to work???That game would be impossible create without the HDD, and that is what makes project ego such a special game with the HDD it has allowed peter montok(sorry I misspelled his name) to take his game and his teams talents to the next level, something developers can not do on the ps2.


If XBOX didn\'t have the HDD then MS would be wasting there time with XBOX.   J.allired said of the most important features when designing xbox was the HDD, they told Bill gates that without it XBOX would stand out to be nothing more special than PS2, and that they would not go through with the XBOX plan without it. Bill gates looked into the matter and agreed that the HDD was indeed an extremely important factor regarding XBOX\'s success.

Why do you think that Sega wants to make SHenmue 3 on XBOX.  Cause it\'s the perfect platform to creat the game on. if you read my previous post on the adbvantages od the HDD you will see the potential for a game like shenmue and many others.
