I assume you guys have never read an end user license.  They are just taking action to make sure you abide by it.  I feel weird in saying that because I have stuff from back before many of you were born that was hacked.  It\'s been going on forever and it will never end.  I see nothing wrong with them taking action against it.  The only problem is that the people that would get the program for free still will and they are hurting the honest people out there that don\'t know any better.

I for one will not be Paying for multiple copies.

It is a nice operating system though.  I\'ve had it for several months.

Robert X. Cringely relates a rumor he heard.  According to the rumor, Windows XP\'s ridiculously poor security was intentionally included to make the current TCP/IP standard unworkable under a blizzard of upcoming virus attacks.  Microsoft hopes to destroy TCP/IP so they can roll out their not-yet-announced semi-proprietary replacement, which Cringely calls "TCP/MS."  Afterwhich Microsoft will effectively own the Internet.

... AND Win NT/2000, but if enough user PCs (which are already connected to the Internet) upgrade to WinXP, the resulting avalanche of email viruses, trojan horses, DOS attacks, and other as yet undreamed of exploits will slow all servers to a crawl no matter what OS they\'re running.  At least that\'s the theory. :nerd:

XP is not a server OS, it\'s a workstation OS.  2000 Server and Advanced Server and Datacenter Server are MS Server OS\'s.

And nobody, and the Emperor means nobody, is going to host their domain on a Microsoft OS.  It\'s not smart no matter what u think of them.  UNIX boxes can go for months without having to be altered or rebooted.  A bad hair day can set off Windows machine to a fatal error requiring downtime and loss of data, which means a lengthy restore from tape usually.
