If Capcom makes the RE series a NGC exclusive, I am going to be very POed!  I don\'t have enough money to buy another console.  I am still hoping that RE4 comes out on the PS2.

And about those pics, very nice! :)  The graphical style really is a lot like Devil May Cry.  I hope all future RE games look like that.  It is so much more realistic than any previous RE game.  Just look at that zombie in the top pic.

Are those pics from RE0, or are they from the RE1 remake?  I can tell that some pics are from RE1, but other pictures are new to me.

It looks as good in motiong as it does in screenshots.  Utterly amazing.  Spring 2002 seems pretty far away all of a sudden.

My GC purchase has been moved up significantly. Hopefully this will attract some other publishers so it isn\'t just Sega and Capcom on the system.

So realistic, it is frightening!

Oh crap.  This is a sad day for all PS2 fans. :(  PS2.ign.com reported earlier that tonight there would be an announcement in Japan about RE4.  They were assuming it would be a good announcement for the PS2, but they were wrong.

This news that Famitsu just posted is a huge blow to all PS2 fans everywhere. :(

Its a sad day for RE PS2 fans (like myself). I don\'t see this as a sad day for PS2 fans. I mean, Resident Evil is just one franchise. Much in the same way as Final Fantasy is one franchise, or Metal Gear is one franchise. PS2 has plenty of great games coming, and even great exclusive games coming.

Also, I don\'t see how Nintendo landing this franchise alone will get them to beat the PS2 (they have a ton of cards up their sleves to do this, but I don\'t think RE alone will be able to do that). Afterall, RE:CV, which time and time again, was said to be exclusive to the DC when it was the only system it was availble on, wasn\'t able to save the system. Thats not to say that I don\'t think landing the fanchise won\'t help (its RE, of coarse it will help Nintendo...period) but at the same time, will not determine what system comes out on top either.

After saying that, I am truely floored with RE1 remake for the GC. Now, weither these are pre-rendered or 3d, or a combination of both, not sure yet. All I know, these are truely awsome graphics.

Now, gameplay...will it be same ole same ole? Also, I don\'t like playing remade games (afterall, great graphics and all, but its the same story). If I bought RE:CV for the DC, I most likely wouldn\'t have even considered getting RE:CVX for the PS2 (although I will admit, RE1 for the PSX is extremely inferior to RE1 for the GC [especially these...awsome pics...wow], but still, I\'d be playing the same game over agian...with better graphics).

Resident Evil (BioHazzard) really being exclusive to the Cube
is great news as far as more adult games, but to be quite honest.  I just saw the movie and you can tell the graphics are pre-rendered.   The number one thing I dislike about a lot of games from japan is the graphics look great, but you can\'t interact with it, they are just movies or pre-rendered art and honestly I am not impressed.

http://www.zdnet.co.jp/gamespot/gsnews/0109/13/news05.html

Someone in Japan translated some text on this URL and said its pre-rendered.

Also, I don\'t want games with the same gameplay we have had for a long time.  There is only so many sequels that I can handle of a game that has the same exact gameplay.

RE feels like some of the "Halloween" movies or "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies.  Its time to move on with some new gameplay and Devil May Cry is doing just that.

So in a way, I think Nintendo is getting shafted here.  In another way, at least they are getting adult content.

I am just tired of the same old gameplay with better pre-rendered background graphics, same old series, same old theme.  Its time for something new and honestly so far PS2 has DMC, which is realtime and a much better product with new gameplay and new graphics.
Shweeet!

I agree with Docwiz here...agree with Docwiz? Whoa. Surprises just keep happening nowadays (the other surprise...:(:(:(:( don\'t want to talk about it in this thread). Anyways, back to the thread. Great graphics...great pre-rendered graphics. Not a bad thing since these are obviously leaps and bounds over previous pre-rendered games, but after playing DMC or the soon MGS2, not the way to go for some games (especially in interactivity). And the same old gameplay...I don\'t want dramatic changes, and a few changes here and there would be nice.

Still, good news for Nintendo (especially those cynics that say "Nintendo are only for kids!").

Good points Simchoy and Docwiz.  At first I was really upset that RE was a NGC exclusive, but now I realize that the PS2 still has awesome games and great exclusive titles.  I don\'t care about the RE1 remake, but RE4 not coming to the PS2 is still a big disappointment.  We don\'t know how it will turn out yet.  The controls could be like Devil May Cry\'s controls, and the gameplay could be a lot different.  Even though I won\'t get this game, I hope RE4 turns out to be awesome, but I also hope Capcom continues to give the PS2 great titles.

The first RE is my favourite...both it was a novelty...and because I still remember the jumps I did from my armchair when the dogs burst into the corridor through the windows :bounce: ...

I\'m nostalgic...I\'ll buy it for my GameCube :)
He has the power of both worlds
Girl: What power… beyond my expectations?
AND IT\'S PERSONAL
Demon: No… the legendary Sparda!?
Dante: You\'re right, but I\'m his son Dante!

LOL.  That was the biggest scare out of all the RE games.  I jumped so high when they jumped out of the mirrors. :)

Wow...RE being a NGC exclusive? I NEVER saw that coming for a second. This is great news for Nintendo fans. Thank god for Capcom for stepping up and putting some more mature games on NGC.

Man, I don\'t care if they are pre-rendered or what, the game looks incredible. These graphics on definitelt on par with any other game out there. Yes, even games like Project Ego and Rogue Leader. It puts Eternal Darkness to shame graphically. It was hard for me to admit that since I eagerly await that game. :( Silent Hill 2 looks like **** compared to this.

I never played the first RE too. I started with the second one so this works out perfectly for me.

I\'m in shock over the graphical quality and the announcement.

Wow, I agree with Docwiz here.  Man, this is definitely a week of firsts isn\'t it?  Good post Docwiz, nice to see that you can comment on a situation without overtly bashing the ps2.

I don\'t know what\'s more shocking, the fact that the RE series is going to the NGC exclusively, or that all of us agree with Docwiz. ;)
