I wonder if they\'re going to be sending in any A10 Thunderbolts? Despite our bravado, we have to remember that Pakistan is a very tough nut to crack thanx to their natural geography. In today\'s Newsweek, they said that even the Vietnameese tunnels were no match to the advantage Pakistan\'s terrain offeres. This means quick strike attacks like we threw at Iraq will be largely ineffective. The easy way would be to carpet bomb them, but as said before by many members.. we have to remember to keep civilian casualties to a minimum.
The A10 is built to fly close to the ground, under radar detection and strike. It\'s slow speed and heavy armor mean it\'s perfect taking out the SAM missle launchers and enemy encampments that are no doubt scattered all throughout pakistans valleys.
It can make a suprise attack, and drop an amazing amount of payload in a very precise targeting pattern.
Hopefully, the validity in the A10 continued service lost durring Desert Storm will be regained durring these conflicts.
