I for one think that Australia is really over-stereotyped.   It drives me crazy.  It seems like so many Australian and American corporations are just driving this bullsh1t down our throats. Trying to convice consumers that everyone in Australia lives in the desert and wrestles crocidiles, and drives a Land Rover, and trips over Kangaroos, etc etc.  It\'s just a damn insult to americans AND australians!  I even liked it better back in the early eighties when the only things the typical dumbass american knew about Australia came from "The Road Warrior."  Now it\'s just a marketing concept for corporate america.

Yes, I agree that Australia\'s sterotyping is one big marketing campaign, but Australia can not advance when these things linger in the background... Who would trust a country with Chemical Weapons (ie nuclear plant in Queensland) when the rest of the world thinks we are all drunk and hunt crocs...

I don\'t characterize Australia with the Croc Hunter or Paul Hogan, I characterize them as one of the most incredible sporting nations on Earth - you lot have such a small population and yet you\'re bloody good at almost EVERY sport you play - basketball, cricket, soccer, track and field, swimming, rugby.
