That\'s the first thing that popped in my head when I saw this thread. Of course, being a nerd, I tried it - 72 wpm with a whopping 62 purssentt acckurasie. This is why I\'ll be hiring a secretary.

I wasn\'t really trying the first time because I was at work, and I never do my best work at work!

I just did it again and got 77 wpm, 95% accuracy on the first test.

Just had to let you all know that I ain\'t no slacker!

One thing I remember from all my learning to type is that having great accuracy is waaaay more important than base speed, because you don\'t waste time going back after to fix mistakes.

LOL - Is it just me, or do everyone\'s scores seem to be getting higher, higher, higher, as they try to top previous people.

Assuming you are doing this correctly (ie, choose a longer test, not just 1 minute), some of these numbers seem impossible.  I mean, cmon 91 wpm, 92% accuracy?  The girl test involves the use of your pinkies a lot, it\'s virtually impossible to type that fast, that accurately when you have the odd number and \'-\' thrown into the mix.  If you can sustain 90+wpm at 90+ accuracy for 5 minutes, that\'s incredible.

On the 5 minute one I got 60 wpm with 94% accuracy

Most people type faster if the words are coming from their head and not having to read. By typing out what\'s on your head, you can just look at the keyboard and monitor. Whereas reading, you have to read, look at the monitor and sometimes the keyboard.

So scores go higher and higher once they\'re read the test paragraph enough times so that they have it almost meorized and know what they need to type.

My greased fingers could do 100 WPM with 88% accuracy. With little practise, I could do far over and with a far better accuracy.

Try to top that, kids.

only 59 WPM with 85% accuracy.  I\'m never a good typer...

One of my friend\'s cousins is a year younger than me (14) and is able to type at some 110 WPM. It\'s ridiculous.

I did the first test, at 2 minutes, one time, when I got my score. *shrugs*
