Tecmo has filed a lawsuit in Tokyo District Court against a Japanese software company which has begun selling copies of Tecmo\'s PlayStation 2 fighting game \'Dead or Alive 2\' with playable nude characters. Tecmo representatives said that "the changes to the game distort the intentions of the creators in a wicked fashion." Tecmo is seeking an injunction against the sale of the modified game and unspecified damages due to intellectual property violations. This comes on the verge of the release of Dead or Alive 3, the latest chapter in Tecmo\'s fighting series exclusively for Microsoft\'s Xbox.


I wouldn\'t be jumping the gun if I said that this is one of those games that will never reach American soil, would I? ;)

Through endless searching on the net.....

I found that Westside is somehow mixed up in this whole deal.

Do we have any Japanese reading/speaking people who could go to the site and find out the latest/details??:shy:

(HERE is an official statement from Westside(?) about DOA2. there is also a link to Tecmo contained in the text)

You guys should hang out on the EFNet fighting game channels.  I saw an mpg of that game couple months back.  And yea, it was very cool.  Looked pretty darn realistic, but I think most would either be laughing or slightly distracted while playing. :)
