Nearly The Bruised Banana\'s Birthday...so I dug up this thread...
« Reply #30 on: November 09, 2002, 03:58:29 PM »
Thought I\'d say just how wonderful the past year has been with this car.  Awesome performance (and a few mods;)).  The good Lord knows I flippin\' love this car!

Anyway, had to offer up my thanks to Coredweller on this occasion.  I have done much with http://www.s2ki.com.  I organize meets and events in the Mid-Atlantic area.  And have come to appreciate a wonderful group of enthusiasts with this car.

So here\'s to my first year with The Bruised Banana.  May there be many, many more to come:LOL:

Love this car...and my PS2, of course!:p

W1ngman, The Banana looks way cool with that CF hood!  I see you did the diffuser mod too; that looks great.

You will be pleased to know that I am on the verge of buying an S2000 also.  I\'ve been saving for a year, and I received the loan approval on Thursday.  I\'m going to begin shopping next week, starting with test drives in some runner-ups (WRX, RSX-S, and G35C).  I want to be positive I\'m making the right decision on a car I\'m going to own for the next 10+ years.  I usually keep em a long time.  :)   I already have plans for an amusing announcement post on s2ki.com.  :p   I am so thrilled, lately I can\'t really think about anything else.

Cheers brother,

Good luck, Cored.

I wanted a S200 so bad, but I just can\'t afford one. My \'02 Celica broke me for the next five years *sigh*, but I still love it. There\'s nothing like the feel of a new car, espically when every  mile on it has been put on by you.

That honda is a fantastic car, pity car prices in the UK are a total rip off. And as for insurance, just don\'t ask.

I can\'t imagine what the insurance would be on that car. My Del Sol (which was two seater, convertiable) was $700 every three months...Celica is around $500 every three months.

Yup...I\'ve done all the wrench turning myself (and thanks for noticing the cleared corners too!  Funny, but with this initial "Jus braggin\' post...a year ago...you indicated in that thread that you wanted to save up for an S2K:cool:.  Now, gotta be a lil\' subjective and say you will love deciding on an S2000.  At the same time...each of the other "runner-up" cars you\'re considering are also excellent in their own right...but they are different than the S2K.  Definitely gonna be a tough decision for ya!

Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback...  Here\'s some other images of The Bruised Banana just for grins:

This pic is of "The Bruised Banana" logo/rubbing applied to my Cusco STB  compliments of my buddy airgate (pre-CF hood by ~ 2 weeks)

Installed some APC Clear Side Markers...these were a bit o\' a b!tch...but happy with the results nonetheless

And a lil\' sumpin, sumpin to keep in theme with The Bruised Banana through a purchase from junkyard dawg

And here is just an awesome shot I snapped during a furious ride in New York during Fall Colors \'02 (we had a total of 103 S2Ks meet for that weekend! )

Well...thanks again everyone!

More great pics, thanks W1ngman.  I like the engine mods you\'ve done.   I can see a lot of little things here and there.  As the Taco Bell guy said to Airgate, "That shit is the sweetness!  That shit is tight!"  :D   I still laugh when I think back on that post.

Today I went up to Van Nuys in the Valley and test drove three different cars.  In sequence, I drove the Subaru WRX, Acura RSX-S, and 03 Honda S2000.  OMG!  What a great day.  They were all cool for different reasons, but the one that really surprised me was the RSX.  It was much nicer and sweeter than I expected.  Very easy to drive, and extremely comfortable.  It instantly went from 3rd place to 2nd place in my internal ratings.  :)  (Apologies to EmperorRob and other WRX fans out there.)

However, the S2000 remains in first place, and nothing I\'ve driven can beat it.  It\'s definitely a HUGE bargain in the roadster market.  Whatever I decide on is going to be a huge step up from my POS Saturn.  I can\'t wait.
