I think raising it would be nice, it shows that it is something to be earned in time, not in just a month or two

Or time spent on the forums combined with post count.

If the guy has been here for quite some time, and bunch of posts he could apply for a pic, that way the number of posts wouldn\'t matter as much since they would also have to be here sometime to get the pic.

It would also go vice versa, if he\'s been here a long time, but has a very low post count he wouldn\'t get it. In the beginning it was a very cool thing to get a pic under your name, it showed that the poster spent a lot of time here and was respected by the other members. But it\'s become so common now, every other reply has a pic in it.

The simple fact is, on just about everyboard it\'s more desireable to have a large post count, because newbies notice the ones that have a big post count more than they do the ones that don\'t.

ya you could raise the posts for a pic to 1400 and then take mine away hehe:p

But yes it is a good idea to raise the post counts for pics, i think 1000 is a good number, it will make the avatar more desirable and the users with avatars more noticable.

Also, is it possible at all to freeze the posts for only certain threads? because that would be the ultimate solution.  If a mod believe that a thread is spam, or even if the person starting the thread thinks it is spam, the mod or poster could freeze the posts in that thread..... but is that even possible?

Oh, I\'m all for the elimination of post counts. Remove them altogether if you would like. I\'m simply saying that, as a solution to the problem at hand, removing them would not be the most effective option.

Then you could base images off of how long a user has been registered--something they cannot change by spamming.

hmm, im all for the time method of allowing user pics

raising to 1000 is bad cause what about those that got them at 500 and havent reached 1000 yet?

now whats an acceptable time limit?  6 months? one year?

How about this. Anyone who registered in July 2000 or earlier can get one. ;)

Realistically, I\'d say five months sounds decent. Maybe six or seven. A year might be overkill.

I think I said that about a year ago..  Based on time, not posts..

And again, halting the post count is just plain stupid.  The people are gone NOT because of post count, but because of how pathetic this board has become in the past day.

Sorry, I just had to post one more time to hopefully clear something up.  Although you will all think it\'s for Post Count.

(Signs for that one)

I think someone should just ask, and if the "higher" authoritites feel that they deserve, they should get it.

How about, If he\'s been here 6 months and have a 1000+ posts he get\'s a pic, and also 1 year and 500+ posts.
Sounds like a pretty fair deal.

How about a combination?

1. You must have been here at least five months.
2. You must have at least 700 posts (which actually wouldn\'t have applied to me after my first five months, because I did not come here much.)
3. You have to display a certain amount of intelligence. If you are a big loser who nobody likes, you get no picture.

You would have to meet all three criteria for a picture.

First of all "sublemigj" or whatever your name is, don\'t come in here tell me that I don\'t know who Darkgamer is, I\'ve known this fool for about 2 years now, from PS2Web.com and his screename used to be Xboxhater and he used to jump from "Xbox ****ing sucks" to "Xbox Rules" as well as other mind changing he did to spam the forum. He was the biggest screw up ever on that forum and everyone and I mean EVERYONE hated and well still hates his ass.  So next time, check up, before you post.

And you ooseven, mr. mod, ooh you all better recognize...dont wanna piss him off.

Your a mod now and your telling me I better watch out for my own sake? What are you gonna do? Ban me?

Oooh...no, please anything but that!

****, a person becomes a mod and just forgets about friendship, have you forgotten our little ICQ chats we used to have?,

You could have contacted me personally before you made that post. But I guess your too good for me now, so your telling me what to do. And its funny, since your the only mod that had a problem with hit.

Ok..
1. I doubt we will change it too just 6 months and u get a pic.
People will SIGN UP.. not post.. come back 6 months later and say.. "hey give me a pic"

That\'s just BS.

2.
People leaving because the post count was froozen can F off for all i care. That just proves they were here for the POST COUNTS not for friends etc. They care more about there post count not goin up, then posting on a quality board with other members. HOW LAME.

3.
This is a EXAMPLE of the amount of SPAM on this board.
Go to this thread http://194.47.16.181/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=10

and I will QUOTE THE SPAM

and this is just from the FIRST PAGE.. There\'s even MORE on that page.

It seems to me the people that are getting most upset are the ONES THAT SPAMMED.

Game over.. No more BS nore more SPAM.  MM can return the post count if he wants.
But it\'s simple, no more spam.
