"I guess i am misinformed" - NPYYZ
Damned streight you are. You\'ve been nothing but misinformed since you arrived on these boards.
"If that is not the case, I am not mad about it, $50.00 for a decent console and around another $60.00 for games is not a lot of money for endless hours of gaming fun." - NPYYZ
What\'s this "Endless gaming fun" you talk of? I thought your two month DC gaming strech ended pretty quickly when you got your Xbox??
"Tomb Raider - last revelation
Tomb Raider - Chronicles
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Code Veronica
Daytona USA
Test Drive Le Mans
NFL 2K1
Sonic adventure - but it won\'t load" - NYPPZ
TR:LR - sucks
TR:C - sucks
RE:2 - has been available on the PSX for ages
RE:3 - Also available on the PSX for ages
RE:CV - Good game.. no complaints
Daytona USA - Haven\'t played, but I hear it\'s good. I also hear it\'s online servers are down.
TD:LM - So So game.
NFL 2k1 - Good game.
SA - Good game, but hardly the best of what the DC has to offer.
Now weren\'t you also complaining about how the PS2 is filled with sequels and rehashes? Almost every game on your list is sequel, and most of them aren\'t very good. As I suspected, nothing new or innovative.. and aside from a handful of games yours are all sub-par.
My DC list...
Vigilante 8: 2nd Offence: Below average
Carrier : Crap
House of the Dead 2 : Awesome
Ecco the Dolphin : Awesome : Very difficult
Metropolis Street Racer : Good game, but not my style
Crazy Taxi : Awesome, but short
Sonic Adventure : Good game, Hardly the best though
Quake III Arena : Good game, as long as you have a KB & Mouse
Resident Evil: Code Veronica : Awesome game
Soul Calibur : Best Fighter Availaible
Phantasy Star Online (v.1 and v.2) : Good offline, Excellent online. Most addictive console game ever.
Seaman : Unique, intriuging, and innovative.. dunno if you could call it a game per~sey tho
Capcom vs. SNK : Best 2d fighter I\'ve payed in a long long time.
Jet Grind Radio : Beautiful, Fun, Difficult, Innovative.. what more could you ask from a game?
Shenmue : Sub-par by PC Adventure standards - A masterpiece for consoles. Must own.
AirForce Delta - Very fun, Still tries to make the A10 into a dogfighter.
The only reason I don\'t have Skies of Arcadia and Record of
Lodoss war yet is because I haven\'t been able to find them anywhere around here yet.
Oh, and I also have 4 controllers, 7 Memcards (3VMU\'s), Gameshark CDX, Vgabox, Keyboard, and Microphone.
"I will be spending more of my money on a Game Cube when the Resident evil series comes out for that system. I have read tha Capcom is going to only do the Resident evil games on the GC. Have you heard any different?" - NPYYZ
Yes. Not only did you spend too much for RE games that are available for dirt cheap on the PSX, but now you\'re going to buy them all over again just for pretty graphics?? Capcom signed an excutivity contract with Nintendo to release six Resident Evil games on the NGC. They will be RE:0, RE:1, RE:2, RE:3, RE:CV, RE:4 (or RE:Survivor 2). AFAIK, no details on the rest of the series has been given.. but I\'ve heard both ways that the remakes will all be graphically updated and that only RE:1 will recieve a facelift. It\'s unconfirmed at this point.
Even with excutivity, don\'t expect not to see the graphically updated RE\'s on other consoles such as Xbox and PS2. Capcom dosen\'t know the meaning of the word excusive as they\'ve proved countless times in the past with all of their successful franchises. RE:CV, for example, was co-developed with Sega and was exclusive to the Dreamcast... however that didn\'t stop it from being ported over to the PS2 with only a few extra costumes and 5 mins of extra footage being the only differences.
"I am a huge fan of those games and the graphics are much better on the DC then on the PSone." - NPYYZ
No they\'re not. Adding in FSAA and Texture smoothing are not huge graphical leaps. RE:2, RE:3, and DinoCrisis look nowhere near the same level of graphical detail as RE:CV. If all you wanted was minor graphical updates like those, you should have just bought Bleem for the PC.
