Metal Gear Solid 2 DVD Content (PAL - only)

Konami confirms bonus content (including a piece from GameSpot) and releases image of final pack shot.

As we reported some time ago, when the European version of Metal Gear Solid 2 hits shelves on March 8th it\'ll come with a free DVD of extras that wasn\'t included with the US or Japanese versions of the game. Earlier today, Konami confirmed the exact details of what the bonus DVD will contain and, in keeping with the game itself, we\'d have to say that the list puts those of many special edition movie DVDs to shame.

The full list of DVD content is as follows:

The Making of Metal Gear Solid 2 - A specially created one-hour documentary created by French TV channel Fun TV. The feature boasts extensive interviews with Hideo Kojima who talks about his hopes for the game and explains what his intentions for key scenes in the game were via subtitled clips.

Production Notes - This rare insight into the final moments of the game\'s development was originally written by Geoff Keighley for GameSpot, enough said.

Artwork Gallery - A collection of early character sketches and preliminary drawings from the Kojima\'s archives.

Biographies - Extensive histories of the numerous artists, programmers and development team members responsible for Metal Gear Solid 2.

The DVD will also include a version of the game\'s manual and instructions, plus a number of MGS2 TV spots and trailers from around the world.

That\'ll make a full-price copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 the biggest bargain in the world come March 8th then. See you in line.

Hmmm looks nice, very nice. But eh, I\'ve noticed the European
gamespress is reacting differently to the game than the US ppl.
Like Metal_Gear_Ray\'s thread \'MGS2 gets slammed....\' I\'ve read
more MGS2 reviews which indicate a different reaction than the American. In the Playstation mag it gets a 89 out of 100. Not as dramatic as the 82 from the Power Unlimited, but I do see.... and
that\'s a fact ; that the European press is indeed slightly dissapointed in the MGS2 game. So one can say that\'s all bull****, but you can\'t deny that if it were perfect why would Playstation mags find it a mixed bag.
Greatness also means acknowledging mistakes, Mr. Kojima.....

well i couldnt wait for it anyways, this makes the wait a little better, but what about the other extras like the movie thing, where you can put other people in, like instead of snake jumping off the bridge, you get an old woman.

also i saw a pic that in the room with loadsa soliders when you gotta take a pic of metal gear, one solider is in his pants!!!!!! is that in the american game??

As for MGS2, well that extras package looks great, the game (demo) is fantastic and if anyone can honestly say after playing the demo they don\'t want more of the same they must be hard to please :eyemouth:

I don\'t think that us europeans don\'t recognise success and all...
I believe that the Americans have a tend to over react and have the good old "first is everything, second is nothing" stuff...

I don\'t mean to start a race thing going on, but maybe that explains it a little bit....

On the other hand, there are some games that the verdict was the same from both "sides".. Like GT3, GTA3..

So its basically the Silent Hill 2 DVD disc but for MGS2, fun TV indeed. :rolleyes:

Still the Silent Hill 2 DVD was ok so im sure this will be.

Usually PAL users get the shaft, but damn, you guys really lucked out on this one :P Enjoy!

no rich its better than the silent hill2 dvd, as this has some extras that the americans dont, like the theatre mode, and the harder level, also a survival boss fight thing.
