PS2 Joystick problem
« on: February 12, 2002, 07:26:28 AM »
I just bought the EagleMax joystick to use with the PS2.
It says controller not attached. I understand they don\'t make this controller anymore and it was made for the PS1. How can I get it to work?
Can I use an adapter, Modify the plug, hack it in some way, or tear into it with some schematic found on the net???
Help Me OB1! your the only one.

as it was made for ps1 it may not work, cos most games on ps2 use anoluge button ( can tell the difference between 256 degrees of pressure), there fore if a game need to tell the pressure you may not be able to use it, for example i tried to use my ps1 dual shock 1 pad on the bouncer ( dont worry i only rented that crap game) and it wouldnt let me play, as it need to be able to tell the difference between a hard push and a light one

PS2 Joystick problem

The stick worked some in digital setting on Sky odyssey but would not at all on Ace Combat 4.
I called ACT labs that makes the EagleMax and got a Teck right away. He said it was discontinued and would not work as the PS2 looks for an address code the stick doesn\'t have. There are adapters that might work they sell on lik-sang.com that allows you to plug in anything including keyboards made by various manufactures.  I would need a PS1 to PS2 adaptor The sticks button maping is separate so it should work.
I have looked and one that plugs into the USB slot looks promising. The EMS USB2 which is $15.00.  They sell different adaptors that generally run from $8.00 to about $20.00 US. This one doesn\'t exactly say it is for joysticks but one picture shows a PS1 controller going from it back to the PS2. It seems it is used for guns mostly and to use your playstation controllers on Computer USB slots. I will check more.
