its not looking too good for xbox, it bombed in europe and asia

Well I think that sega was dumb to support xbox, they could have tripled their sales easily by supporting ps2 more.

I\'m sure they were just trying to build up the Xbox\'s userbase so when Shenmue 3 and other high profile Sega games are released they will be a huge hit.  I think Shenmue 3 is going to cost a fortune to make (if they are going to use the HDD to save every little detail like the Xboys have been claiming), so Sega needs the Xbox to have a huge userbase in order to break even.  It\'s not looking good so far for Sega.

Well I don\'t want to see it flop. I wouldn\'t want to see any console flop it just means less gaming in the long run!

The question is can X-Box survive without the Japan market? I mean it hasn\'t really flopped all that much in Europe.

I hope it doesn\'t flop my brother who got one previously got the Sega Saturn - wasted a lot of money in the long run with it dying. He risked getting the X-Box over the PS2 with the risk it might flop. I just hope this doesn\'t happen.

why?  i would think it means the opposite.. why have games spread across 3 consoles, when it could be spread on 1 - 2 consoles and have a handheld market??  it would be much more benificial ecenomically for consumers, developers.. hell, everyone?  pfft

Why would anyone WANT to see it fail? I\'m a PS2 fan myself, but whenever there is competition between rival company\'s, it almost ALWAYS benifits the consumers (peuple like US) Look at it this way... They XBOX is tons easier to develop games for than the PS2 right? Well, if the PS2 devs don\'t have a console to compete with, they don\'t have as much of an insentive to take the time to make a game that really takes advantage of the PS2, if the PS2 was the only console available, we\'d be forced to live with whatever games were available. With the intro of the XBOX, and GameCube for that matter, the PS2 devs HAVE to make better games to stay on top. Hence, they\'re the ones that are forced to make better games, instead of us being forced to play mediocre ones. Just my 2 cents.

the gameboy [original, color, and advance] never had competition

why push for newer and better games?

C\'mon now... to say games will stay the same forever is stupid... But if gameboy DID have some serious competition, it would have probebly come along further than it has right now.
