Here we go again....
I remember last year\'s E3 when Nintendo unveiled this baby. I also remember the revolt on every board including non-Nintendo boards such as this one. It was a love or hate thing and two of the only people who loved it around here was Ryu and I. Infact, we both even made threads about why the "celda" look was good for the series and guess what? Here we go again...
Come on people, Zelda was never about a dark moody setting like the one shown to us at SpaceWorld 2K. I mean, sure that one looked great and all, but it just didn\'t fit the Zelda series. This though, this is not only gorgeous, not only is it a remarkable techincal achievement ..It is also best for the series most likely. It lets the series get back to its root and that is, at best a light-hearted yet deep adventure about an Elf who continues to rescue the same damn princess everytime. Now why do you need dark and mature graphics for such a light hearted story? You don\'t. Instead, you need graphics that are just as light-hearted and care free as the story is.
Now to address indiviual comments.
bright kiddie colors
Holy crap! We no longer just have "kiddie games" we now have "kiddie colors". Soon we will even have "kiddie sounds", "kiddie movement" and so on.
Thanks!
I think it looks awful. I hate the look, just hate it. It might be fun, be there are lots of fun games, I don\'t want a game for the kid in me, I want a game for the 26 year old that I am.
I\'ve grown up, Nintendo hasn\'t. That\'s fine, my nephew will love it.
Okay, here we have a contradiction in itself. You admit that it might be fun, but at the same time you trash Nintendo for making the game. Isn\'t the game about being fun? Your nephew will love it, you admit that. How do you know you won\'t love it? Oh, I forgot, the graphics are not mature enough for you. So, you are willing to limit yourself from most likely a great game (what Zelda game hasn\'t been great?) just because of the graphics? Odd and I thought you was a "gamer".
Im running a 56k right now so I\'ll probably download the movie later.
Smooth running? Doesnt look like it will take much to give graphics like that a high frame rate... .
No man, it doesn\'t take anything to give those graphics a high frame rate and the detail that is going into the game to make it look like an interactive cartoon yet play like an actual game (as in: Not like Dragon\'s Lair, which
was an interactive cartoon . ) . Seriously, Ryu has already tackled your comment about this, but I had to have a go at it.
No offense, of course.
