All he did was say "Don\'t ***** because I\'m an ignorant bastard. - Bozco
Not quite. See, ignorace comes from not knowing or by keeping yourself blind to the truth. I, however, do know the effects of smoking.. both first and second hand. It\'s not Ignorance Bozco, it\'s apathy. I don\'t give a f*ck, and I take offence to anyone who decides that it\'s their place to judge me or to try and change me. What is this the crusades? Kill the hethens, before they infect our young\'uns with their detestable smoke! ?
Don\'t you guys just hate how people from big cities, (EXPECIALLY LA) ***** about second hand smoke? Don\'t want us polluting all your nice healthy smog now do they? There are so many pollutants and chemicals in the air given off by car exhausts, foundries, chemical factories,... human civilization, that you\'re going to get contaminated anyhow.
Honestly, and I\'m not trying to use this as a scapegote or to "lessen" the effects of smoking in any way, but I believe a big reason why you\'re seeing a lot of lung cancer increases in the last half of the 20th century is because of all the nuclear testing we did. Do any of you have any idea just how many nuclear and hydrogen bombs we set off in the atmosphere for our tests. Those isotopes don\'t die out for.. hmm.. how many thousands of years and are still floating around in our atmosphere? Anyone have records from 1900 to 2002 on the amount of recorded Lung Cancer cases crossed with the increase in population?
Not to try to take the focus away from the dangers of cigarettes, as they are streight up poison chocked full of carcinogens, but it wouldn\'t surprise me in the least if they weren\'t the only reason for the increase in lung cancer. And it just goes to show that smoke isn\'t the only dangerous cancer causing substance out there you have to worry about.
Anyhow, 1BG, I\'d like to see a link to a news artical explaining the new tax on smokes in NJ. I haven\'t heard it.. and if it\'s true, it can\'t be used as any kind of a strong argument because 98% of smokers don\'t live in NJ. Even so, NJ\'s a small state, and it\'s not really going to drecrease the amount of smokers in that state. What it will do, is decrease the amount of cigarette sales in that state.. meanwhile sales of cigarettes ALLLLLLL around the border of NJ will increase exponencially.
