Metroid Prime to be "Roughly seven hours"

"Matt: Metroid Prime gameplay: Roughly seven hours, I\'m told. A short, but sweet game. "

When I read this I about cried.. the game looked so good at e3.. and now to find out it may be only 7 hours!?

What do you think?

Another great game that might be ruined by short gameplay. :(
Lets just hope it has a lot of replay options.

Actually, 7 hours is just about the perfect lenght IMO for this type of game.  Unless it\'s an RPG, I tend to lose interest in a game after 8-10 hours, and a FPS adventure game with 7 hours of stuff is perfect.  

Some of my favorite games of this type are much, much shorter:
Bionic Commando
Metroid I and II
Super Mario 3
Goldeneye
ZOE (a bit too short)
GTA3

You should also double their estimate:
FFX "can" be finished in 30 hours.  It takes most people 60-90 with secrets/char leveling
Goldeneye "can" be finished in a couple of hours, again, it takes people 8-10 with most secrets... and much much longer with all.
GTA3 "can" be finished in a few hours, but most people played it through for 10-20 hours.

Let\'s see how long the game is for ourselves.. 7 hours could mean anything. I mean, you can technically beat a game like RE:R in 2 hours but it took me 18 the first time through because I didn\'t rush.

Pikmin took me 5-7 hours to beat the first complete time through.. but the replay value had me playing at least an additional 20 hours after that.

No one doubts the greatness of Super Metroid, and yet the game could easily be beaten within a few hours. I believe you even got a special ending if you beat the game in 45mins or so. You all forget, as long as it plays great it will be great.

since when has metroid ever been multiplayer? so that said, doesnt bother me if it isnt.

Heh, it would probably take me about 3 months to complete. In fact I can\'t even remember me ever completing a game. Wait, that\'s not true - I did finish Metal Gear Solid, because it was so truely awesome.

Am I the only one is the world that thinks that graphically this game looks weak, and I have never played a metroid game so i cant comment on the gameplay

I would still buy it if its good, ZOE and Onimush were short but very sweet and I bought them

ANY FPS gets boring if you don\'t have good multiplayer.  I don\'t care how good those "7 hours" are, it won\'t be worth it at the end of the day without being able to frag a friend or three.

That "7 hours" is also highly dubious.  I almost alway finish a game well before the advertised time--especially FPS.

This is a rental for me.  MGR, I have to disagree, the graphics look quite nice.
