Hmm.
Well, I\'d say they\'re doing pretty dang good for being the first game of it\'s kind on a console (PSO doesn\'t count, it\'s not a true MMORPG), considering how many add-ons are needed to get the game to run, and considering it\'s a country where online isn\'t as big as it is here, especially online games.
Heck, look at Everquest for the PC. They just reached about 500k subscribers not even a year ago I believe. On the PC, a place where MMORPGs are insanely popular. I don\'t know about you, but I\'d consider what Square is doing with this MMORPG OK in my book, I don\'t think of it as poor sales or a failed game like some of your are making this sound to be. They did just release the game after all, and it is a MMORPG. You can\'t sell 500k copies of those types of games right away on any platform, you have to build it up. It took EQ 4 years and 3 expansions, with a 4th coming up, to get the userbase it has now, it\'ll most likely take FFXI somewhere near the same.
