What was DC launch?

DC\'s best game was Soul Calibur.

Sonic Aventure, Blue Stinger (still an ace game in my mind), NFL2K, Hydro Thunder, and a few other worth mentioning.

SA and Soul Calibur are generally regarded as great, with a few others being solid titles to follow after.

Sega did have the best launch this generation with the XBox as a close second.  I bought Soul Calibur, NFL2K, Sonic Adventure, and Blue Stinger when it came out.  I got my money\'s worth.  The XBox had Halo, Project Gotham, and NFL Fever.  Not exactly the greatest line up, but it outshined the GCN and PS2 lineups by far.  The PS2 didn\'t really have anything spectacular at launch and like everyone said, the GCN mainly had Rogue Leader.  If it launched with SSB:M and Pikmin though, it too would have been an awesome launch.

I agree with the XBOX, Halo wipes the floor with every other game I have played. Put that with Munches and Project Gotham (which I really liked, dont flame me, but I\'m a big fan of arcade racers) and its a clear winner.

but, launches should be compared with what was out at the time..

the PS2 launch could be lackluster mainly cause it was only up against the DC. While the xbox and GCN needed to shine beause they were up against the ps2, and its large collection of 2nd generation games.
Did they really shine? well, not in comparison to the ps2 titles out at that time, which is why the ps2 outsold the xbox and GCN combined.

I would love for you to show me games on PS2 that outshine (I assume you are speaking graphically) Dead or Alive 3, Halo, or Munch...

Also because it had a large library of games and powerful brand recognition.  The latter having a huge influence on consumers...

There is no point in continually bringing this up as it\'s clearly fact and undisputable.  I think you merely post it as a means to start something...

since when do we rank games graphically?

it we gave awards for great graphics yet repetitive gameplay and no replay value, halo would win gold everytime, huh?

Have you actually completed Halo? You do know it got many high marks, awards, and is regarded as the best FPS since Half-Life?

I don\'t even own an X-Box, but I really wish I could play Halo...

I recon it\'s pretty hard to say which console had the best launch - IMO, GC\'s wasn\'t the best. I played all the games and can\'t really say that I was very impressed. Didn\'t quite like the feel to RL, but enjoyed more the likes of SMBM and Luigi.

PS2\'s launch was pretty cool.. I mean SSX, Timesplitters and Tekken TAG gave me a blast. What the launch did lack though, was a good racer. So, in my opinion, Xbox had the better launch out of all 3, thanks to Halo and Rallisport/PGR. Dead or Alive 3 is good too, although I can\'t say I\'m a fan of its gameplay.

Launchs: Xbox > PS2 > GCN

Just my opinion though.

You\'re all wrong...

The best launch this generation were the $200,000 Tomohawk Cruise Missiles we launched to kick the Taliban\'s sand-encrusted a$$.

:fro:
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
