Devs have always tricked our senses (but not mine! Mwahhahahah!) with 2D objects in 3D games, and don\'t think they\'re gonna quit anytime soon.

I love to nitpick :D

:p

Just small detaills.. I was talking trees! :eyemouth:

Those are almost a year old... want new pics of prettypretty game! ...that still suffers from stoopidlooking corny bunch-of-leaves-bitmap tree -syndrome. I want accurately modelled individual leaves! Waaaaah :(

We will see more later ;)

Individual leaves? Well you wont see that in a while.
Have you see Ico\'s trees? Very nice.. The leaves look like they\'re individual but if you zoom in you see they are part of a bitmap.. Very nicely done of course..

Look:

Ekk.. Individual?

Nope.. But still the most impressive trees, ever!

One thing that makes them look so real is the movement, the leaves move in the wind.. And the filtering they use! Impressive!

Lame-o, lame-o... *yawn*

Of course I wasn\'t serious about the individual leaves... Nowadays technology is just too... unadvanced. I hope I will live to at least witness the first individually modelled (complete with veins and details like bugbites, and of course I want to see the bugs, and how they nibble on the leaves etc.), true to life leaves in a game! :p

The question is; why would devs go for that kinda perfection when they know we\'ll settle for so much less without a peep... aww hell...

I\'m not making much sense, now am I. Could someone tuck me in?

Yes but you believe these devs.  When was the last time you looked at anything xbox with a shred of optimism?

And those Outcast trees look pretty bad by today\'s standards anyway.  I\'m not saying the game will be bad, I\'m saying it will not be what the devs say, and you are one biased son of a *****.

Hey, do a search.  I\'ve been much more negative about xbox games on this board than PS2 ones.

It seems like all I do is defend the xbox, and to a point that is true, but that is because there are so many PS2 zealots like you around.  I\'m no less forgiving with directxbox.

Check back to the spec thread about J&D.  About Baulder\'s Gate, Maximo.  Or search and see what I said about Munch, Ninja Gaiden, Morrowind.

I speak my mind.  I don\'t bash the PS2, never have and never will.

Can you claim to have the same open mindedness?  No, you can\'t.
