You could be right Blade, but it could be that MS and Sony have done a better job of courting devs.  N is still high on fees and extraordinary publishing costs.

Watchdog: Let\'s hear a source on that.

One thing I know is, Nintendo is collaborating directly with Sega, Namco, and Capcom on game development.

Sony and Microsoft aren\'t.

AlteredBeast: When "great" games start coming on a monthly basis. I\'m looking at.. probably August.

A lot of big 3rd-party (not to mention 1st-party) games are coming in the second half, and 2003 is reportedly jam-packed with goodies. I\'d have to think that 2004 would be at least as good as 2003. Thus it rolls..

I don\'t have a source, I thought it was common knowledge.  I don\'t care enough to go digging around.

You don\'t think MS and Sega have more than a 3rd party relationship?  What is Namco doing for N that it isn\'t doing for MS/Sony?

It also seems to me that Capcom is spreading its big franchise games pretty evenly around the 3.

If they are working directly with these companies it surely isn\'t paying off.

What is he right about? When will the developmental ball start rolling then?

The ball will start rolling if all of N\'s big titles (metroid, star fox, eternal darkness, re series, ect.) are succesful.

Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?

Namco, Capcom, and Sega are collaborating with Nintendo on certain Nintendo franchises. Namco and Sega partnered with Nintendo for the Triforce board, which a Namco-developed Star Fox and a Sega-developed F-Zero (both designed by Nintendo EAD) are appearing on. They\'re also appearing on GCN, and being published by Nintendo.

In addition to that, I\'ve read that N\'s licensing fees are extremely competitive. As for MS and Sega, I feel that they have a very close relationship. Closer than Nintendo/Sega. Of course, is Xbox getting MS/Sega-developed games? Not yet, if ever. As for "paying off".. both jointly developed games are coming out in early 2003.. the point where the ball is rolling quite fast according to my estimates. If you want to debate Nintendo, read up. ;)

And Sega\'s primary arcade board is basically an xbox (or at least there is one in development).

F-Zero and Star Fox would be coming out regardless.

I still don\'t see this partenership being all that beneficial.  It still comes down to publishing and N isn\'t getting anything of note that isn\'t going everywhere else.

We can look at releases next year and N is solidly in last place in terms of 3rd party support.

We can look at releases next year and see that we don\'t know about 80-90% of them. gg.

Well I guess you are going on hope, optimism and against every sign.

I am going on the past history (N64), current developer actions and common sense.
