I\'m finally getting a PS2!!!

Okay. i really wanted MGS2 though.

MGS2 Substance is basically the same but you can play as different characters in the levels, you have VR Missions and stuff like that. I\'m getting it but not when it comes out. MGS2 is the best game.

Good thing your getting GTA3 (of course who in their right mind wouldn\'t).  And as someone else said, DO get FFX, even if you don\'t like RPG\'s (and yeah its turn-based).

And (I know someone else said it) don\'t get MGS2 until Substance comes out, you can save a lot.

Thanks. I\'m in the same situation as you! The only way I will like any RPG is if it is turnbased. so i\'ll get FFX and GTA3. or should i get GTA3 and JakandDaxter

Dmc, vf4, tekken tag, Gt3, FFx, medal of honor, mgs2, so many good games you can\'t go wrong.  Playstation 2 what?

Actually I love platformers as much as I love FPS. By the way is MGS2 a FPS? I am now officially passing up GTA3, since it\'s sequal comes out only a few weeks b4 my birthday(which is Oct.31 the great halloween) I\'m pretty sure that MGS2 and Jak and Daxter are the way to go! unless..............one of you prove me wrong. I will rather have the real thing instead of a remake. Kinda like I owned Sonic Adventure2 but not Battle.

get GTA3 and Vice City

Jak & Daxter is a great platformer, but PS2 is getting some other great platformers soon such as Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Theivius Raccoonus and various others

MGS2 is not a first person shooter and im willing to bet its storyline will be too full on for you to enjoy it fully

Devil May Cry is a game you will want to check out

Final Fantasy X is the best game on the system IMO

Medal of Honor is a great single player FPS, so is Red Faction.  TimeSplitters is the best multiplayer game this generation.  But Red Faction 2 and TimeSplitters 2 are coming out soon as well, and they are going to rock.

Twisted Metal: Black is a MUST BUY.. fantastically fun single player and co-op, and an awesome deathmatch.

Theres plenty more games as well, but i think theres already too many good games on the system that you\'ll never own  

I\'ll take part of your opinion. I think that I\'ll stick to my GameCube for platformers like Mario, SFA, and Zelda. But to the PS2 for Action/Adventures and FPS.

GTA3 AND METAL GEAR SOLID 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I\'M GETTING MY PS2 TODAY AFTER CHURCH(if i go 2 church 2day)!!!!!!!!!!! i\'ve been getting pretty tired of my GC. ED and Resident Evil are not my kind of games. My last game for GC was Spider-Man, which was awesome. I only played a few of the beginning missions in GTA3 over my friends house. I hope the missions get better, b/c some of them were bland, except when it had the Triads in it.

and SFA and Zelda arent platformers    and what does it matter what platform they are on?  Do you only get to purchase a set number of games for each system?  

I\'ve just been playin Mario and Zelda since I was like 3, and I\'ve fallen love for t hose classic Mario games. But since I\'ve had the PSX I\'ve learned what the power of Sony is. I\'ll put it simpler. I\'ll stick with the GC for the "nice", "kiddy" games. And I\'ll stick with the PS2 for the killing and "mature" games. I don\'t even want the XBOX, since most of the games are comin out for the GC or PS2.

dont forget to get GT3 best racing game ever and you can get it dirt cheap.

I know, but I\'m not that big on realistic racers. I do have a $20 gift card for Wal-Mart. Isn\'t that how much GT3 costs? My mom is buyin me the system and two games. I was gonna use the gift card for a PS2 gameshark though.

I got back from my Wal-Mart a few hours ago with my PS2, GTA3, and Jak&Daxter. I can\'t believe that I\'m wasting my time postin on this forum, but my  mom told me to take a break(she thinks i\'llget a seizure). Thanks for tellin me to get da right decisions!
