I\'m running an Abit KT7-RAID. It\'s served me well and I\'ve always liked Abit, even though they\'ve had some quiality control problems. But theres simply something to be said about a brand that puts the geeks over the normal consumer.

I\'ve been thinking about trying Epox or MSI (which I don\'t see listed ;)) on my next board. But I won\'t even think about an upgrade like that till I start seeing some Hammer benchmarks to see if they\'re worth the complete system rehaul.

Mine is an FIC.  However,  the southbridge, which is a VIA686B chipset, has given me grief in Win2k.  So you can blame that on FIC or VIA whomever you choose.  Other than that no issues.

The new MB i\'m getting has a  Northbridge : VIA KT333
 Southbridge : VIA 8233A(CE) chipset.

The Asus mb i got was based on a Ali M1647 Chipset. I\'ll make sure never to get a alimagik chipset board again. Whats worse is i\'ve read that they arn\'t completed chipsets either.  If anyone has capture cards / Tuner Cards. Stay away from this chipset.

i\'ve had experience with amd, gigabyte and intel, and out these i prefer the intel as i find it to to perform much better than the others.
but what i dont like is the fact that intel screwed me over with that Rdram bullchit.

I have a good old Abit BE6 2 which is starting to cause trouble lately.
The second IDE controller (with the DVD and CD Burner) will not work in 70% of the time I boot. I always have to look if the lights on the drive go on when I turn on my PC, if not I have to switch of the power and try again. I can`t wait to get a new PC later this year.
Good to hear that there will be nForce 2 boards without GPU this time.

I always buy Asus or Abit, but I especially prefer Asus.  They have such awesome manuals, and a great website.  You can always figure out what\'s going on with an Asus mb because the manuals don\'t read like they were translated by a 12 year old chinese boy.

My Abit BE6 caused me some problems when I first got it going because it had that weird auxiliary UDMA66 chip onboard.  It took several BIOS/UDMA driver combinations before I struck on one that worked correctly.  Since then it\'s been rock solid and reliable.

Right now I\'m running whatever came stock in this crappy crippled Compaq POS that I got for free. In my Pent 133 I\'m using a FIC board.. which I absolutely hate. I had a AMD K1 200mhz that I wanted to put in it.. but it only supports AMD processors up to 80mhz.. and the only Intel socket7 processor I have is a Pent 133. I thought about overclocking it, but the damned pins inside are so screwed up and confusing that I end up jus leaving it as is. To hell with it.

When I get about 150 bucks saved up, I\'m gonna put a Asus made AT board (It\'s an old case) which supports up to AMDK6-III 800mhz.. and then try to overclock that and see what I can get. Trouble is.. Asus dosen\'t make the board anymore.. their suppliers are out of stock.. and I haven\'t been able to find one ANYWHERE. Life sucks. ._. Guess I may jus have to cut my case after all...

EBay, SonyFan.  Just buy a whole PC that has the mb you want, and then tear it apart.  The hard part is getting idiots who think their Pentium 200 is worth something to actually look inside the case and tell you what kind of motherboard it has.
