OMG PUNKBUSTER?! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. They stopped supporting CS when Valve wouldn\'t integrate it into CS. Little whining bastards cried all the way home..... to RtCW.
Day of Dick? LOL! Well actually since... 2.0 I think it was its been a good game. Anything before that was pure ass. And RtCW?! Its a good game but far from the best FPS on the internet.
1. I have XP Pro and it runs fine.
2. Cheating used to be a HUGE problem, hundreds of people stopped playing the game because of it. Several groups released third-party anti cheat programs that would detect and ban cheaters, like Punkbuster (ahahahhaah even when they did support CS it was a piece of crap, only detected something like 5% of cheaters), HLGuard (much better), and Cheating-Death (also much better).
These programs did alot to stop cheating, but as soon as they would update, the cheat makers would come out with a new version. Finally, Valve themselves (the company who owns CS) made an anti cheat program, built right into the game. New cheats were detected with 24 hours, cheat makers got pissed, many left and started hacking Quake 3, and the true non-cheating-bitch CS players rejoiced.
Long story short: its not a problem anymore
3. Is it worth it?! Its been around for over 3 years and runs on the 6-7 year old Half-Life engine, and yet its still bringing in players and is/has been the #1 player online game in the WORLD for 3 years. Its definetly worth it. Its unique, its fun, the battles are always a little bit different. Its realistic, but not so much that it makes it not fun *cough*DoD*cough*.
And it only costs $30!
