EA will sell more copies of PS2 madden than they have in the previous years

another thing im predicting?

ads on thier servers

imagine logging into thier match up server and theres an ad for pepsi, or trojan condoms, etc

i doubt it will happen (and if it does, so what), but thats just a step they would take before charging the individual user (a broken method of non-MMORPG online gaming)

Frankly, I don\'t care.
Its how TV has worked for awhile.. its certainly better then paying monthly or yearly... *cough*xbox*cough*
Running a matching server does not require that much cash anyway. No differnt then running a webserver.

But when you get into a MMORPG, your talking some cash to run it, which is why the charge..

/me thinks to self "Why did I just explain how its worked on the PC for years?"

Right.. but just because there\'s no NEED to charge individual users dosen\'t mean companies won\'t. They\'re in buisness to make money.. and corperate greed does make for some pretty stupid buisness decissions.

Still, I agree. Most companies will be smart enough to pay for their player matching software through advertising or other means. I\'ll bet you\'ll still see SOME of it tho.. companies testing the waters to see if they can get away with it in the console market. Of course, they\'ll probably blanket it in other things like entries into contests.. access to forums.. insider information.. special tourneys or level access. Charge you for something that should be free by making you THINK you\'re getting a good deal, kinda like what IGN Insider is doing.

ps2 online package = teh win

On a 56k your kidding me right. I\'ve been using cable for 3 years now, I will never go back.(i know there is an option for cable, but most users will have the 56k)

Heck Even the Dreamcast on 56k was unacceptable, I expect zero delay and massive online servers (up to 40 people) which can only been done on cable  (for fast smooth speed)

Now I understand some of you don\'t care about that stuff, and like laggy servers,(comming from a high speed user) that can only support a limited number of people, that\'s fine, but for people like me Lan is bare min.

I agree MS has alienated quite a few people by choosing a LAN based system, then again MS demographic is targeted towards the demanding gamer. (oh and I\'m sure MS would like every demographich if they could)

Anyhow why make a big stink which system has the best(which is a matter of preference) online options if you are so content with Ps2 online strategy, then why bother to bitch and moan about XBOX all day?  Could it be the whole "I told you XBOX owners so"
does it make you feel better, i hope so

My perspective on this, those who are hardcore gammers that don\'t buy an XBOX for it\'s low price right now, is there loss. I plan to buy the XBOX sometime round november-maybe( I am very busy, and i already play online pc games)

Ps. does anyone know when the NV30 is comming out, I hear that becuase Nvidia went for the.13m process they will have the wait till november or december. Go ATI(canada)

Obviously there are games that require broadband and others that simply do not. While MMORPG and others require a highspeed connection, many other genres don\'t. I don\'t see your point you\'re trying to make why Xbox\'s is better from your perspective just because you have braodband.

PS2 gives you a choice (at least for the games that don\'t require broadband). Xbox Live does not.

BTW; just to add: lag happens on any network - even broadband.

i played NFK2k1 on the sega dreamcast and i had VERY little problems on my 56k

madden 2003 = two player (like most sports games will be)

it will play fine over 56k (although im playing on cable)

stop being a hater, nvidia256

sony goes for the majority, and thats why they are on top

m$ goes for thier coffers, nothing more

Just becuase I have braodband, you damn right. Cable allows for more people to play on the same server, while maintaning good sold speeds. Can 56k do that-NOpe it\'s to limited.

What\'s your point I already said that. Also A choice it may give but you will be up against someone with faster ping, does that seem fair(but this really depends on the game)

Yeah on shitty servers, and could you imagine that same server giving broadband lag what it would do to 56kers. Ah but you see that would not happen per say, which brings me to mm\'s point about the dreamcast.

Agreed. so did I, but remember mm while the dreamcast did well on 56k,  it was only capable of supporting a very limited number of people, which really sucked. It\'s good for games like football but what if you wanted to play say GT online or something how many racers do you think 56k can support while maintaining a smooth gamming experience.

Correct, although as I said, it really depends which games you\'re talking about. And the limitation will be whatever the devs choose to support. Imagine this scenerario: you could have servers supporting only broadband, only narrowband or servers supporting both. It gives you a choice, while on Xbox, narrowband users will never be able to play. How this might benefit you is beyond me. You could play a racing game for instance on a 56k without noticing any difference at all - and that\'s my whole point. Most games outthere will not require a broadband connection. So why even bother to argue about "benefits" when in reality there aren\'t any?

Enough and that\'s my whole point. What did you think? 2 users? LOL.
BTW; if it\'s easier for you to coprehend.. we could do the math together? ;)

I\'m sure most games will probably segregate 56k\'ers from us mighty BB\'ers.Example Twisted Metal Black,56k=2 player,BB= umm not sure if it\'s 6 or 8 players.

BTW howcome I can\'t see peoples post counts anymore? Is it my pc?
I swear this post is not spam!!!!Listen,if this post was spam, would I do this? [spreads mayonaise over bread]

Did I say that, learn to read.(I don\'t mean that in bad way) Broadband can support many more people on the same server while allowing them to play at optimum speeds, that\'s my point, and it means a hell of allot to me. If you read my first post I said this may not be an issue with some of you, but it is for me, and there are many more gamers out there that fit this profile. Yes majority of people in US are 56kers, (not in CANADA though which is strange) which means ps2 will have more people on there server or the games companies whatever.

LOL! how is that, I don\'t even own an xbox(my brother and my friends do) I\'m a PC gamer at heart, but I do like playing console games. Also MM(SOAP make me more) if you read my previous post I said I will not be getting an xbxo till end of the year(or maybe the NV30) we will see. Also you say I bitch SPEAK OF THE DEVIL!
