There is no way I can answer this with just one quick answer, because I like different movies for different moods. So, I\'ll just sum up my all time favorites.

Natrual Born Killers -  I personally consider this one of Oliver Stone\'s finer moments. Awesome movie, needs a better DVD transfer though.

Jackie Brown - In my humble opinion, this film was more developed than Pulp Fiction - which is saying a lot. I\'m even more in love with this film with the recent DVD release (infact, I\'m watching it yet again, right now).

Taxi Driver - Robert Deniro and Jodi Foster are awesome in this movie. Maybe one of the best movies ever.

Chasing Amy - Kevin Smith\'s finest moment. Has the humor, smart dialouge and an actual point to the movie, unlike some of his other movies (see: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

The Godfather 1 & 3  - The first is a classic. The second was okay and a lot of people don\'t care for the third, but me personally, I thought it was an excellent end to the trilogy. Andy Garcia was the man in that movie.

Batman (1989) - Tim Burton\'s vision of Batman was the single best adapation of any comic hero. Not to mention, Michael Keaton rocked as Batman and Jack Nicholson was awesome as The Joker.

One Flew Over the Cukoo\'s nest - If you have never seen this movie, you\'ve never seen one of the great pieces of cinema. I bought the DVD when it was on sale, due to the fact I never figured it would get proper treatment. Well, I was wrong. A two disc version is coming out in September. It will be the first movie I have ever bought duplicate of. I imagine I\'ll give the original disc away.

Superman - You will believe a man can fly, damnit!

A ClockWork Orange - Kubrick\'s single best movie, in my humble opinion. I still think it needs a better DVD though...

The Shining - Stephen King can bitch all he want that Kurbick butchered his novel, but in my opinion Kurbick just took it to the next level.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - The ultimate musical. Let\'s do the time warp!

Night of the Living Dead (original) - How can you deny this movie? George Romero was beyond his time. Get the 2K edition, ASAP!

Silence of the Lambs - Despite what some people think, Hannibal (Hopkins) did not make this movie. Jodi Foster did.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -   Depending on my mood, I prefer this over Snatch. Either way, its a damn good film. Guy Ritchie is the damn man.

Snatch - Brad Pitt in a Guy Ritchie movie, what else do you need? Well, you need a dog who barks with a squeky toy in him..:D

Se7en  - The great serial killer movie. Great preformances by Morgan Freedom, Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey.

Fight Club - Every middleclass male should be able to relate to this movie. Work is tedious. Life is tedious. The story is the same. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt rock.

Those are my favorite movies. The ones I consider the great movies in my collection of DVD\'s.

One Flew Over the Cukoo\'s Nest is absolutely fantastic, and Snatch is just hilarious, yet undescribably cool. The characters are just a riot, everyone from Tyrone, the getaway driver who can\'t \'get away\' from anything, to Bullet Tooth Tony and his friend Desert Eagle .50, to Brad Pitt\'s awesome pikey charater. "Ye like dags?"

But I must say some of the best films I have ever seen are from the international community, in particular.

Burnt by the Sun A phenomenal russian film about a retiered general living out his life during the Stalin era USSR. Incredible preformances all around, if you don\'t cry your a heartless bastard.

La Lengua de las Mariposas (Butterfly) A spanish film about a young boy and his mentor, and the trails they face in a revolutionary Spain. Jose Luis Cuerda does an amazing job directing, and Fernando Fernan Gomez puts out a very memorable performance. Very human, and hence very sad.

Huo Zhe (To Live) This movie follows a chinese family from the last days of the emperor all the way through recent decades. It was actually banned in China, along with all of the films participants, because of its content. The truths within this film are so sad, and the injustices are so grave that one has to wonder what purpose there is in life? The purpose is quite simply: to live. This film will stirr your soul, and it will make you marvel at the resiliency of the human spirit.

I guess most of the films I like are overall sad, but the common trait they share is that the characters and stories are all undeniably human, so much so that you can\'t help but emphasize with the characters. Don\'t be put off by the subtitles, as the movies are so imersive that you won\'t even notice them a few minutes in.

I absolutely recommend all of these films to anyone with the slightest interest in cinema... that is, of course, unless you\'re too manly.
