I was checking up on the forums and now we have a full translation of what the articles say. Here is a run-down thanks to InterCooler from the GranTurismo.com forums...
First picture: "Scoop, PS2 game currently in internal (in Korea) development! Racing Game (Tentative Title)"
Second picture: "This is not a game developed in Japan. This is the most recent racing game being developed somewhere in country (Korea). Cannot announce game title nor the development group but one thing is for sure. This is GREAT/OUTSTANDING/FANTASTIC!"
Third picture: "Graphic so true to life. Graphics that will captivate your eyes immediately. Compared to other game developers, one cannot be astounded by the visuals that does not fall behind current technology. When will our country (Korea) users (meaning players) be playing this game?"
Small note just above "Phantom 84" car "Inside, the handle and seats are fully modelled. Only thing left is to run on the circuit with full power. FYI, the car image below is not in game footage but an in game model"
Small note just below the screen shot on upper right corner "A car racing with reflections off the light shining through the trees. Pay attention to the reflection of the tree branches on the windshield"
Scoop (2nd one) "From racing circuit to centre of downtown: there are many city nightscape in the newly released information. Could it be developer\'s preference? Anyhow, it seems you can race not only on closed racing circuits but also run on city streets. Basing on the Japanese streets in the game shots, it seems Japan will be a target market." The small comments with three pictures describe the shots.
The page with the grey car with red lines and "Maverick" car: general description of the car such as "mystery car", "car running in tunnel", "clean RPM gaugge", "map on the upper right hand corner", "very distinctive car design", etc.
Scoop! (3rd one) "Features that cannot be found in previous racing games?. Did you find anything unusual from the screenshots? Mosaic at the lower left hand corner, this is an important/special feature of the game that cannot be released yet. According to the developer, it is a brand new feature not yet seen in a racing game, is it . . .?"
"Is it not true that a racing game\'s attraction is the car? What is the passion that drives the racing game player. Sense of speed? Overwhelming realism? All could be true. However, it would most likely be the ability to personally drive the cars. In that respect, the RACING GAME being introduced here would get a full score. Where can you find great looking cars such as these elsewhere?"
Also, the creator dropped a few more hints. At the moment he is attempting to get the FPS up to 60. There was a hint at a damage model in the game that should be incredibly realistic. And back to the water...yeah it is just a place holder. The creator does not really like it very much! What?! Oh well, make it better then. Lastly, the creator said, "As long as the game does get released, US should be one of the first markets where it\'ll come out." Oh right.
First Article
I have been a little weary about releasing information on this new title for some time now. Various forums have been discussing the title for a while and many could not be sure if this title was actually going to be released. However, after hearing the actual developer speak of the title I believe that I am 90% sure it will make its debut soon.
A Korean magazine had the first scoop on Racing Game in their magazine and provided the first shots that may turn the racing world upside-down. The game looks incredible. Rumor has it that the developer has been creating the title since the release of the Playstation 2. That would make it one of the longest games in development! Let me tell you, it certainly shows. Before I continue on you must be chomping at the bit for a few shots. Below are links to the Korean magazine\'s article on the title. Nobody has deciphered the foreign language yet but who really cares what it says. The graphics speak for themselves.
These shots are a little large (around 100-200k) so there may be a little load time.
The level of detail has never been equalled on the Playstation 2. Supposedly, ever since the game began to be developed the creator has been complaining about the current line of racing software on the market. Now he has put his money where his mouth is and created a game that many will hopefully not find a flaw.
So far there is very little known about the title. After surfing through a few forums I have found out some interesting tidbits of information from the creator. Here is what he has to say...
"About dates and all, right now all I can say it that it\'s still scheduled for this year release. Now let\'s pray this time it actually happens
In regards to that concept car, it\'s an original design (others are more or less derived from some real life car), and also one of my favs. And for those that wondered about track styles, there are city tracks there too, among others.
(There will be) No Suzuka, and at least one wet/rain track.
at the moment it\'s PS2 only
There you have it everybody. Some still say this may be a joke. Who in their right mind would make such fantastic car models for just some joke? Anyway, I am looking forward to some real information in a press release and some high-res shots. Stay tuned to Total Racing Sims for more information
