Turok not worth $50

I bought this for X-box but I doubt the PS2 version is much different.  I think the N64 old Turok was actually more fun than this.

Multiplayer is choppy and has lag.  Yes, lag.  It\'s 4 players on X-blocks and 2 on PS2.  Then the part where you have to fly  is worse than those starwars games where you\'re on a predetermined flight path.

It\'s an ok game I\'m sure some people will like it but I\'d recommend you at least rent it first.

I saw it at circuit city a few days ago it looked promising.  Still a rental can\'t hurt.

I cancelled my pre order a couple of days ago, I think I dodged a bullet.

I read in a Mongolian Gaming magazine that it wasn\'t very good.

Personally I never liked turok, so I wouldn\'t get this one unless I rented it first.

I was looking forward to Turok, I was extremely close to buying it today.

Let me re-iterate again that the flying sucks, which so far is about 30 minutes of the 2nd chapter.  The 1 player mode is alright but it just seems like 1 tap on the stick bumps your target reticle 100 pixels in a given direction.

I\'ll monkey around a little with the control sensitivity and see if it gets any better.  But honestly the multiplayer was not very good.

Hmm now that the game is out and he sat there in his tent smelling pretty bad due to lack of showering watching all the people just walk in and pick up their copies while pointing and laughing at him.  I just want to know

Was it really worth it?

OK I played the game again and I finally realized what it is that pisses me off so much.  The target crosshair is tiny, like a needle.

the graphics are pretty good and the enemies will react to whatever part of their body you shoot.  The problem is hitting them.

Its not getting great reviews from most everyone

This comes as a huge disappointment from me as I\'m a big fan of the series.  I don\'t know if you guys have seen it yet but I created a Turok tribute years ago when I was first learning Premiere 4.0.  I still say the first Turok has the best weapons in any game evAr!!!!!!

Oh and don\'t bother going to that site in the mpg, after my 2nd Tekken tribute Fortune City closed the account due to bandwidth reaons. :P  Here\'s hoping Acclaim gets it together and saves the series in the next installment.

The only thing I haven\'t tried is turning on the auto-aim.  I never do that in any game b/c I consider it cheating but it might make a slight difference in the gameplay of this one.

I have to say Turok Evolution is a letdown.  My friend has the gamecube version and he was playing it tonight.  The first level is so boring just walking around.  Anyways the monsters on the first few levels have perfect eye sight no matter how far away you are.  So he got pissed and put on auto aim he was less than 2 feet away and he missed three time with it on.  

Then the levels just got crooked he kept getting jumped anyway at chpt 5 he got to a point where he couldn\'t get out of a room.  It\'s like there\'s invisible walls at the door or something.  He\'s claiming it\'s a glitch he left his gamecube over here in an angry fit and said he\'s comming back tomorrow to try to get out of that room and if he can\'t he\'s gonna return the game.  He already died 5 times trying it.
