Tekken4.Isnt it the best fighter available in this gen?

Its got the coolest,stylishest characters,a great variety of characters,best  story in a fighting game,the best variety of martial arts each controlled completely different,best functionality of the surroundings,tons of moves to master,huge number of combos to create etc.

Also some people will find me strange but I personally see Tekken4\'s visuals almost as good as VF4\'s and DOA3\'s.

VF4 did not have good graphics. Sure, the facial models and textures were good, but there were just too many jaggies to make it enjoyable.

From what I have seen in vids, Tekken 4 is certainly very similar to DOA3 graphics wise, particularly when using progressive scan. Very clean.

Sure Tekken 4 has better graphics, but I don\'t think you can even compare it gameplay wise.

EGM busted Tekken 4 pretty hard the last issue and rightfully so. It doesn\'t seem to be progressing any. Hopefully Tekken 5 (provided it is made) will have some mass overhauls, otherwise the series has nothing to offer.

Well I remember hearing something like  Namco saying that Tekken 4 is only 30% of what they envision for Tekken as a whole.

Either way..Im a tekken slut and will own this one as well. I hope I can enjoy it.

I found VF4 really boring. Bring on Soul Calibur 2 Namco!

I got tekken 4 on order. Cant wait.

As long as its better than that piece of crap known as VF4. Barbarian was better than VF4.

tekken is the  the definition of a good fighting game i dont kno how people can play VF4 and say its a DEEP fighter i play it against my friends all the time and i try  to  see the deepness but how deep is a game where all the people u  fight just love to sweep u wit that oh so annoying " swooooooooooosh" and then stomp the hell out of ur head with a high flying manuveur cause thats all they ever do. r my friend s the only ones who play like that?

Yea, such an awesome game!  i got the j.ntsc version and still play the game like everytime i switch on my ps2.

i thought VF4 is kinda good or at least "playable" for me,...so i had a rent from video-store, but man,...that game sux... only buttons smashing is the way to go, never ever spend my hard earned money on this game, i swear to myself,...

on the other hand, tekken series just good,...no more to say.

Tekken 4 sucks period. VF4 is the best 3D fighting game ever!

Here\'s why:
(1) Superior animation in VF4. Tekken 4 animation is just isn\'t realistic especially when the fighters got hit. It\'s always the same one or 2 animation. VF4 u can different attack and the characters react to the way u\'re hit.

(2) Better fighters. A well balanced variety of fighters that\'s actually close to real martial art style, not the made up mix-n-match fighters in Tekken 4.

(3) Better 3D background graphics all the way.

(4) Superior AI.

Button mashing??? ha! I can button smash all the way with Tekken 4.

The only advantage of Tekken 4 is sharper graphics compared to VF4 jaggies.

This is how I rate these 2 series so far:

VF1 vs T1 - Both on equal in terms of revolution
VF2 vs T2 - T2 has superior graphics. Gameplay about same.
VF3 vs T3 - The DC version of VF3 sucks..give me T3 anytime. T3 was also the best Tekken game so far.
VF4 vs T4 -VF4 wins hands down in terms of graphics and revolution.

Oh, and I\'m eagerly waiting for SC2, which I think beats both VF and Tekken!

In my opinion VF4 lacked depth. I am not looking for some realistic martial arts game. All I wanna do is pound the hell outta my oponent.

This is why the Tekken series has always been more popular mainstream.

Do you really think the average person wants to learn all these different combo\'s?

NO. What Tekken lacks in \'so called depth and realism\' it more then makes up for in graphics, style, and pure arcade bliss.

Soul Calibur is a different type of game because its weaponed baed, but SC on DC certainly rocked.

(1)Look closely and you will see the same is for Tekken4.You will see them holding their stomachs,lose their steps,look dizzy,confused,twist etc.Even when blocking they react differently.Actually Tekken introduced that more than VF before.

(2)Namco made sure Tekken4 wont have clone like characters.The similarest characters are Kazuya and Heihachi but again they have different tactics.VF has Lau with Pai and Jackie with Sarah as similar characters.Although similar they use different strategy to win too.But I think Tekken4\'s characters are more distinguishable.Paul,Lei,Law,Jin,Kazuya,Steve,Nina,Bob,Kuma,Graig,Lee,Yoshi....They are all differently controlled.

T4?Button mashing?Hell!!I could beat all Tekkens single "handedly" but the first time I was playing Tekken4 I kept losing on stage1,2 and 3 until I find the way.

VF4 isnt THAT revolutional.The only VF that revolutionised fighting games was VF3 introducing free roaming multi level arenas for the first time.

Finally I personally see Tekken\'s LP,RP,LK,RK control scheme giving more freedom and more variety to the way each character play and feel.Its the same way u think in real martial arts.You have four limbs and according to the kind of martial art and situation u use them accordingly just like in real life.

I\'m not the biggest fighter fan but I found VF4 the most fun.
