Was what my manager did right??? Making me go home early???

well, we\'ve been having problems with people stealing stuff and

such, dvd\'s, tapes and games. Well the other night the assistant

manager basically drilled me and other two people, and said that

it was the people who run the floor(run tapes in common terms).

And of course me and him disagreed and told her the store was

too big for just one person to find people stealing. I mean people

that wanna steal, will and we can\'t do anything about it, without

cameras throughout the store. So she was basically saying it was

the regular employees fault for stuff getting stolen, well tonight a

game ended up missing, and guess who was running the floor

tonight, her. So when the girl brought the missing game to her

attention, I was like who was running tapes tonight??? And she

went off in this bullshit excuse frenzy, like I wasn\'t running tapes

half the night, I was running till, most the night. Then like five

minutes later she walks past me and is like yeah if you wanna be

so smart about it, it may of well been stolen last night. Well I

finished my closing shit, and ran some tapes, and it was 11 and

she was like you can go now, and I was like I don\'t get off till 12,

and was like don\'t I get an explanation, and she was like we

don\'t need you anymore, when there was 2 other people that

were getting off at 11, and we were still quite busy, so I was like

is the Jackie gonna be here tomorrow(store manager), and she

was like at 1 yeah, so I\'m gonna go in and talk to either her, or

the senior assistant store manager, and see if what she did was

handled correctly. The manager is only 18, don\'t u think they

should put someone in charge that is more responsible??? Well in

any case the pole is was she right or did I get $hitted on.


Now I have all intentions, on going to speak to my store manager or the senior assistant, by the way this is Blockbuster.

You proved her wrong and she couldn\'t handle it.  That\'s definately someone that should not be the one managing.

I work in a department store too. It starts with a \'K\' and ends in \'art\'...

We have the same problem, our demo PS2 got stolen just last week!

Sorry vid I don\'t steal, I was pointing out its ok for her to sit there and drill us on people stealing, and it being our fault, but when something comes up missing, and it was on her clock, she gets all pissy about it???

Its hard to read when you make everything a nice big paragraph. It took me like 5 times to read it through before I actually understood what you were saying.

Depends. In the true sence of the word, so she didn\'t do the right thing. She should have listened to her employees and taken their advice. In a managerial sence of the word, she did do the right thing. She passed the blame and wouldn\'t admit she was wrong.

Jus take it as it comes, and try not to let it get to you. This won\'t be the last time. If it gets too bad, either try to get her in trouble with the owner or jus quit and find something better. Heh, I got fired from at least two jobs over BS reasons. One for a no-show for three days (My father was passing away and I had to be there to help him - FMLA wouldn\'t have processed fast enough) I tried to call in to tell them I would be absent.. but their Answering machine was broken (Seemed to work fine to me). Even after I brought in an obituary and doctors slip, they still fired me.

Then another time I was supposed to work overtime at Noble Romans to supply the Tippy dance hall kids with pizza. It was one of our busiest nights, and one where most stuff had to be done in a very specific manner in order to get things. Well, Heather was feeling sorry for me and she gave me most of the night off since I\'d been working Tippy nights for 6 weeks streight. When I finally got into work to start getting prepared, this D*ckwad who worked before me had the place trashed.. and I mean TRASHED. Heh, I was cussing out a 40 year old man like he was a 5 year old.. telling him to clean up his area and get it ready for me before leaving. (Generally, I think that\'s pretty bad when the floor is so filthy you can write your name on it) Well he snuck off while I was chatting with the counter people and I ended up having to do all his work.. which made the rest of the tippy night a disaster and pissed off a lot of customers. So I called up the bosses, but none of them were home. Finally, I called his ass up and chewed him out on the phone in front of customers for like an hour.

Yet, I\'M the one who got fired (and banned from the store) because of that. I guess it was my fault, I should have known better than to not kiss the ass of the guy who was the bosses bf\'s drinking buddy/best friend.

Thing is sonyfan, for her to sit there and pass blame, but when it happens to her its not her fault, the other 2 managers arent like that, this manager was supposedly cool, before, everyone says her heads ballooned to astronomical proportions, like I\'m 18 and assistant manager of blockbuster, woopidifukindoo, that happens in a lot of places, but she thinks her $hit don\'t stank cuz she\'s the assistant manager??? Bull$hit.

Exactly, but managers know all and are never wrong.. or else they wouldn\'t be managers. :rolleyes: It happens to alot of people at a lot of places. Jus one of those things you kinda have to live with.
