The company I work for gets things stolen, usually it\'s the managers that get the blame from head office, never are the shop floor staff singled out and blamed. If you spent all your time watching peolpe like a hawk, you would never get any work done.

The moral of the story...the video rental industry is a bitch.  I had a friend who worked at a local video store, and he had to deal with all the same sort of bullshit.  At this one, he was working there for maybe a year.  In that time, there were 5 managers, and maybe 20 employees that had come and gone.  Eventually, he just got so fed up that he quit on the spot, and walked out on the store.

People are made managers for a reason, right?  Because they have shown they can handle responsibility.   I think she was wrong for chewing you out about stolen items when she couldn\'t handle it herself.  But I think that you should have went to the store manager in the first place to talk about the theft problem before she started ranting about it.

I had a similar thing happen to me like that.  I work at burger king in a mall.  I was cashier for the longest time and I was always fast and accurate with my money.  Well anyways.  At that store or whatever we have more than one person be a a particular register and I was sharing mine with like 4 people a one point.  To make a long story short.  There was always money missin from my drawer like $20 at a time.   Well when welty and I went on vacation in the middle of August there was a total of $497 stolen from there in one day from the safe.  Well when I came back I heard rumors  that she was blaming me and she knew I was gone but she was still accusing me.  So because she doesn\'t believe me I am permanently off of register  I had no reason to steal money from there.  My checks were more than enough for me and if I needed anymore money I have friends to get it from or my own mother.  I wouldn\'t be so stupid as to take it out of my OWN register.. But that\'s life

I\'ve figured that the way I came about confronting her was wrong, but at the same time she was wrong for how she handled the way I came out about it, I\'m not sorry for voicing my opinion about something, but maybe I shoulda been the better person and handled it differently myself, I\'ve also had a day to cool down, I am gonna hopefully talk to her and situate all this tomorrow with her, maybe try to set her straight, and make her a better manager, but if that doesn\'t happen I don\'t know what then??? I like the job just she needs to pull the responsibility, and the weight of being a manager, and not act so immature about situations.

Since it\'s hard to detect text as being sarcastic over the Internet, I am hoping that your statement was sarcastic, and if it was not, then I pity you greatly and have far less respect for you than I ever did.

Let me put it this way; when you go to sleep at night, there are people cleaining offices, people cleaning streets, people at sh*tty restaurants taking orders from drunks, people at restaurants taking your orders day in and day out, people cleaning said restaurants, cooking your meals, and cleaning up your crap and you have the nerve to laugh at them?  

If these said people suddenly dissapeared, would you do it?  Would you clean up other people\'s crap, cook their meals, or do anything else that you seem to be too far above to even recognize as a position with respect and dignity?  Yah, it\'s a sh*tty job, but these people do it without complaining to earn the mighty dollar.  Don\'t patronize them all becuase your standards are too high.

By the way, Vapor, where do you work?  Last I heard, you were mooching off your family... Care to update the rest of us on that situation?

Whats wrong with working at Burger King. Its a good honest job. At least shes making money and doesn\'t have to hit up her parents for money all the time. Don\'t make fun of her just because she want\'s to have some independence and money of her own. Are you working? If not, then shut your pie hole and leave sara along.

Oh and if you were just joking or what not, then ignore what I just said. Even then I think you owe sara an apology. :wedge:

Wow who knew so many people had worked in fast food!  ^_^ I\'m glad I am not alone!  It is alot of work and I do my share of complaining about it or at least I did but now I just let it go.  

Also the money is not that bad for a first job.  I mean I make a lil above minimum wage and I make like $1 less than my brother and he has been working for a year at his place.  I put in almost twice the hours he does.  

I also like working there because all of my coworkers (EXCEPT my boss) are easy to get along with.  It is nice to work in a place where you get along with everyone.  yea so there ^_^
