It\'s interesting that you mention that. I just saw a little spot about this in the latest GamePro that I got in the mail today. It caught my eye because GamePro said "It\'s an under appreciated party gem that pulls off the 3D trick that Bomberman never could."

Well, I got her to try ICO last night. At first, she said, "I\'d like to try it, but I have some things to do, so I can\'t play very long right now. Maybe I\'ll just see what it\'s like for a couple of minutes."

A little over and hour later, I say "Hey, we have some things to do. Maybe you should stop for now." So, she\'s hooked.

Thanks for the suggestions, I\'m going to try some of them once she finishes ICO.

Klonoa 2 is by far my girlfriend\'s favorite Ps2 game. Followed closely by Crash: Wrath of Cortex. One of the few things that bother me about Ps2 is the lack of  platform games like those 2 i mentioned. That\'s about to change tough with tons of platformers being released this holiday season. Hopefully some of them will be simple enough she can get into them (she doesnt like games to get overly complicated)

The lack of simple platformers (her fav genre) is why she doesnt like the Ps2 too much. She prefers GBA (she loves 2d Mario games), PSONE (she loves Crash)and DC (sonic, rayman 2, magnetic neo, kao the kangaroo, puzzle fighter, etc  ) over Ps2.

Me and 3 friends at college played this game everytime we got together.  And what\'s more is there was always someone who had to rotate in b/c so many people wanted to play it.  And our g/f\'s would watch us play for an hour or so and laugh at us.  Basically all you do is throw stuff at each other but it\'s fun as hell.

I don\'t know if you can rent it anywhere but it\'s definitely worth buying.

Has she played Jak & Daxter yet?

Have you, for that matter?

Fun game :)

Yes she has, but since the game isn\'t on rails like Klonoa or Crash she got lost easily. She had the same problem with Banjo Kazzoie on N64. Games like Rayman 2, Crash, Konoa, Pandemonium, etc are better suited for her since the levels arent so huge. That and puzzle games are her thing.

juslight,
Im curious about the cookie and cream game i might buy it if i find it! It\'s not the first time i\'ve heard good things about the multiplayer.

I stopped by EB Gameworld on my lunch break today, and they had a copy of Cookie & Cream for $20, so I asked them to let me check it out for a few minutes. I thought the gameplay was pretty decent, and I know my wife would like it because of the rabbits and the visual style, so I picked it up (along with a copy of Jak and Daxter, which I haven\'t played yet). I\'m looking forward to playing this with her.

Tell me what your thoughts are when you guys have played a bit.  The Boss fights were my favorite.

Well, we were a little busier than we thought, but we finally got a chance to play some C&C last night. It was a little different for me from the types of games I like the most, but she really enjoyed it a lot. So, the fact that we played together was enjoyable for me.

She has almost never played any video games before, so it took her awhile to get used to remember to push the buttons, and to get used to the analog stick. But, after the first couple of levels, she seemed to start picking it up pretty good.

We finished the first world completely. I thought the Golem boss was fun, although very easy. We moved on to Music world next, which is quite a bit harder than the first world. It took us about 10 tries to get through the first level there, mostly b/c my wife was having a hard time w/ Cream bouncing from drum to drum in a couple of places, and remembering to double jump sometimes, but she finally got the hang of it.

Overall, I\'m enjoying it because of the cooperative problem solving we have to do together, and she was having so much fun she didn\'t want to stop playing.

Thanks again for the suggestion :)
