Yep, Shenmue 2 wasn\'t released in the US, neither Wip3Out, but those are exceptions to the rule. There\'re tons of games that never were released in Europe. Some RPGs, for example:

Super Mario RPG
FF Tactics
FF 1-6 (they\'re releasing them now for the PSX)
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Chross
Xenogears
Parasite Eve
Legend of Mana

I think it\'s not that bad, is it? ;)

What would you be saying if you\'re in our situation. Try waiting for a year to play FFX, paying more than 60 USD for it and popping it in your PS2 just to realize that you\'ve a mere shadow of the real thing... game after game, year after year, system after system, disappointment after disappointment. If that happened in the US just one time...

FFX case is specially bad because SCEE literally laughed in our faces:

What a piece of utterly BS

Things are starting to change now, slowly, but changing at last. Games like Onimusha 2 or Tekken 4 have 60Hz support and it seems that the trend will continue :)

Certainly is BS...if one DVD can\'t fit then use 2 DVD or a high density DVD like XenoSaga!!! Problem solved!!!!!

Glad I\'m playing the NTSC version!!!

It\'s not just that.
As any DC Pal "gamer" will know, they don\'t adapt the FMVs for the Pal 50Hz version, they just skip the extra frames of the NTSC 60Hz version.

But casual Pal gamers don\'t know that, so SCEE used that poor excuse to make everyone say: "Hey, at least they tried their best to give us a good conversion. What a bunch of nice guys".
Needless to say that it didn\'t work :)
Whatever

FF 7, 8, and 9 CG movies didn\'t have these problems in either American or Europe because all their movies are running at 15 frames per second, which in truth is slower than PAL 25fps or NTSC 29.97fps.  FFX is different, CG movies runs at 30 fps or 60 fields.  Europe will definately have some problems.

Nah, other games like Onimusha (PS2) or RE: Code Veronica (DC) show those problems, but the FMVs in FFX (Pal) play smoothly, just as squashed as the rest of the game.

But, back to the original topic, I\'ve to say that I\'m having a lot of fun lately with my PS2 and I\'m really looking forward to what\'s comming next year for it.

Now that they\'ve better tools and experience with the machine, I expect them to focus more on the games themselves, which will certainly improve their quality (and make them last more than 4 hours ;))

By then, I think I\'ll have bought another system too.
Hell, maybe even both, looking at how agressively MS is lowering their prices here :)
Whatever
