So a guy does well and relishes in it and suddenly he\'s a total ass and the entire team should suffer for it?  I don\'t know about you, but when I saw the winning run score, the first guy out of the dugout was him and he was dancing with the rest of his team.  People treat the Cardinals as if they are some type of special case and "deserve" to win simply because they\'ve had it rough.  Well who hasn\'t?  I have my fair share of problems and they never get easier all because I\'ve had it a little rough.

It\'s a sport and the people who are good get all the publicity just the same as any other celebrity both good and bad.  You can hate the guy all he wants, but the team has pulled together to get the job done so they should be praised for just that.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

I consider Bonds more mature than a lot of players in baseball so I guess we\'ll never agree.

And how is he supposed to take the spotlight off of himself?  Like I said he doesn\'t write the articles, he doesn\'t choose what they write.

But he can say something about it.  He can say that his team mates did as much as he did, which is true in many cases.  When you do well and have an amazing personal achievement, it\'s one thing.  When you are part of a team that achieves something together, as a team, and you get credit like it was a personal achievement though, that\'s different.  I would say something.

And regardless of how the media is treating him, he has done many things in the past that he had full control over that have made him come across as a total ass.  The baseball signing incident I posted is an example.

He doesn\'t claim to be the team so I still don\'t agree there.

Oh, and when thinking of baseball players that are actually assholes, Roger Clemens comes to mind.  While Barry may decline interviews, he doesn\'t do things like "The Rocket".  Sorry I\'m just expressing my hate for that bastard who pitches at guys just because he doesn\'t like them.

I think Barry Bonds is infinitely worse than Roger Clemens.

And keep in mind, I\'m saying this as a Mets fan, not a Yankees fan.

Thats funny, I was just watching ESPN and they were talking about the World Series.  They showed an interview with Bonds and he went on to say that they made it their as a team and they played together perfectly to make it this far.

Well that\'s good.  He\'s still an ass.  Kenny Lofton made that team.  Angel in 4, 3.5 if possible.

Haha, now I\'ve heard everything.  No matter how much you dislike him, Bonds is who built that team.  He doesn\'t need to say it, its quite obvious.  Don\'t worry I still want Angels in 4.

Well, from my point of view, it is whether or not Bonds is an ass, or a complete ass. Not whether or not the Giants are a great team or not.

BTW, while I will be rooting for the Giants (if only because I\'m a Bay Area resident, and will root for almost any local team), I have no problem with the Angels. In fact, if the Angels win (and given how good they are, wouldn\'t be surprise if they did win) I\'ll be happy for them nonetheless.
Opinions are not important.

I can see no team that would deserve this win more than the Angels.  They don\'t have nearly the talent on that team that the Giants, or the Yanks, or the Twins had.  But damn if they don\'t know how to use what they got, and find a way to beat people.  Hardest working club in the majors right there.
