Yup, that\'s the name I was looking for, I couldn\'t remember because this type of game is not my thing. Once you see one BMX game, you\'ve seen them all I guess.  ;)

Heh.. funny.. if this game was released on the PC no-one would be whispering a word about it. Jus another game on the shelf. I wonder why people are so uptight about this.. I mean.. it\'s not like we haven\'t seen content like this before. BMXXX? WTF? It\'s just some titties... barely considered softporn for christs sake. Frickin Cinemax shows more action every night.

Oh well. They got that AO rating for a reason.. and I guess this is it. I just wonder why a console game would be the first to recieve it when PC games have been showing boobs and bushies for YEARS and have yet to break the MA18+ rating. (Well, there are some that have broken it.. but they generally don\'t seek ratings since they\'re not sold outside of "Adult" stores... and it\'s kinda pointless to rate a game AO when common sence should tell you that if it\'s sitting next to a rack of 7 inch dildos and Anal plugs it\'s not going to be a "family" kinda title.)

Now, does anyone who\'s making these stupid rules care to explain to me why Walmart will sell Leisure Suit Larry 7 but not this?

Australia does not have a R18+ catagory with games because they believe it will encourage violent tendences with teens.

Yes, I have written to the OFLC and they said they will bring up an R18+ topic in their next general meeting.

Email them and see if it can help.

Acclaim has responded to the controversy surrounding this game. Here is a direct quote of the press release:

Quote

After that many retail chains, including Wal-Mart, Toys "R" Us, and KB Toys announced they won\'t be selling BMX XXX because of the mature content within the game, Acclaim today spread an official press release about this controversy.

"We believe that there is a general, unfair characterization of the interactive entertainment industry and as a result, our product is being held to an entirely different standard than other entertainment media with comparable content, including movies, television and radio," said Greg Fischbach, Co-Chairman and CEO of Acclaim. "According to NPD\'s August report, more than 60 percent of all next-generation hardware owners are men over the age of 18, and this combined with the fact that last year\'s number one selling game was mature rated, fully supports our belief in the demand for this type of content."

"While we acknowledge that we are setting new benchmarks with BMX XXX, we are disappointed that there are groups who fail to see how this humorous product is truly on par with such widely accepted mainstream entertainment experiences, including movies like American Pie, and TV shows like The Sopranos and Sex and the City," added Fischbach. "As a leading publisher, we fully believe that consumers should have a right to choose their entertainment, and with that right comes the importance of responsible consumerism."

"This product was not designed for, nor is it being marketed to consumers under the age of 17, and we fully support the Electronic Software Rating Board and encourage consumers to utilize their rating systems to make educated purchases," concluded Fischbach.

The first action sports video game designed specifically for today\'s mature gaming audience, BMX XXX features scripted jokes and events created by some of Hollywood\'s top comedic writers, more than 2,000 BMX tricks and an incredible in-game soundtrack featuring today\'s top artists. The product\'s official web site, http://www.bmxxxx.com, debuted a trailer, which has been downloaded more than 500,000 times since the beginning of the month.

Well said Mobius One.

BMX XXX is gonna be the typical trash that Acclaim distributes for ridiculous prices compared to the low quality of their games. I hate Acclaim, and may they and their entire company burn in the darkest and furious pits of hell.
