LIC, I have never even heard of that game your carrying on about, and I guarentee 80% of the other \'casual\' gamers like myself haven\'t either.

SONY are here to make money, there\'s no denying it. Why spend 2-10 million making a game that may not sell enough to turn profit? Games are getting very, very expensive to make these days.

ddaryl summed it up pretty damn nice: "If Mark of Kri didn\'t sell then why should they make a 2nd and a third.... just because you like it ?"

It hurts I know, but bashing on other games [The Getaway] for no good reason isn\'t going to make them make a sequal either. Sony aren\'t idiots and they know exactly why their making a sequal of the Getaway and not Mark of Kri...

Still sucks though... as the game was quite something special. :(

L-I-C buy a million copies of Kri.U ll get a sequel:D

BTW:Mark of Kri is less known than ICO and it would have been even dumber if after all the money spent all the research and results done for Getaway were totally ignored and thrown away.

Mark of Kri had potential but ultimately was dissapointing. It\'s just way too short!!!  The stealth aspects are fun as well as the hack and slash and there\'s some added depth with the reversal move but you can pretty much unlock everything in 5 days or less. I like how if you get discovered u dont have to do everything all over again like in so many stealth games. Rau can actually defend himself pretty well and has some good combos. The stealth/hack and slash gameplay definitely could\'ve been explored further in a sequel.  As it is is a great rental!

That is why the game needs a sequel. It could be a top franchise if Sony would of devoted more money to the promotion of the first game and then R&D on the sequel.

Techincally, Unicorn, you are right to a degree. I loved \'Mark of Kri , so much that I got on the boards and did nothing but praise the game to highest degree, hoping that people would pick up on it. Magazines and ezine\'s did the same thing. I was actually amazed that a Sony first party game was so polished and enjoyable, but what happened? Sony turned their back on fans  - which Mark of Kri had plenty of.

Sony complains about lagging sales , but who is to blame? Sony is the only one to blame. There was no promotion for the game what so ever. It was so bad that one of the programmers for the game had to register on GameFaq\'s.com, prove that he indeed was part of the development team and do his own personal promotions for the game on the GameFaq\'s.com Mark of Kri board. So, who do you blame for the lagging sales? You blame the publisher - Sony! If Sony would get their heads out of their ass, they would notice that Mark of Kri did have a fanbase and could of been a money making franchise with alittle more promotion and exploration in the game engine.

What can I say?

If they did promote mark of kri and had great sales and then decided for a sequel it could have made it a hit which equals to profits and goodwill from Sony\'s development team\'s creativity....First time I hear about Sony ignoring one of its games so much that one of the programmers had to register on GameFaq\'s.com, prove that he indeed was part of the development team and do his own personal promotions for the game on the GameFaq\'s.com Mark of Kri board.Ahm...you are kind of right.

I find it strange.Perhaps Sony had some reasons for not promoting it.:confused:Perhaps to busy into promoting The Getaway..

U know I think its risky for Sony to take their eyes away from The Getaway and start caring about other games if so much money are being spent for it.

They are being developed by separate studio\'s.  The Getaway is being made by SCE Studio Soho, while Mark of Kri was by SCE Studio San Francisco (I belive).  Budget money aside, it\'s hardly as if their attention was diverted from Mark of Kri to The Getaway.

Perhaps Studio San Francisco will begin work on a different game now.

\'Tis sad to see great (Although I haven\'t played it) games getting ignored, and thus, not receiving a sequal.

It amazes me.They cancel Mark of Kri\'s sequel yet plan a sequel to The Getaway, a game they can\'t even get out the friggin\' door.

cheer up

its still to get a PAL release and they might change their minds

Also your not alone in thinking that The Getaway smells like pee pee and don\'t even deserve a sequal.

Its not Sony that should be blamed, its casual gamers who choose not to spend $55 on a game they are not sure they will like, and therefore never try it

This is the bane of the hardcore gamer, who demands much more from a game

its the casual gamer that drives the industry, and that will never change

Sony sells a ton of machines and many developers make money on Sony consoles.

Without Sony would GTA ever really materialized last generation. Rockstar would have never been capable or allowed to produce GTA on the N64

so for all the bad stuff that people bitch about with Sony, there is alot of good as well

Sony pumps out some great games, unfortunatley not all of them are good, and not all of them ar what we really want

I\'m still waiting for the ultimate Action Strategy RPG in full 3D with a western style graphically and storywise set in a futuristic space setting

so imagine my disspointment.

This only proves my point even more so! Sony has yet to release this game in the UK, therefor they have no clue on the sales it would bring in . Release it in all the countries , then decide. But, no, that\'d make to much sense.

Unfortunately in those casual gamers , people that dont have enough money to risk it are included.
