Who\'s voting tomarrow?
« Reply #30 on: November 05, 2002, 03:28:27 PM »
I hate people who say the Dems and the Repubs are the same. Democrat and Republicans are NOT the same party. There are MORONS that WANT to make either party the same with the so-called "moderate" crap (i.e. RINO and DINO [Republican in Name Only and Democrat in Name Only] like Riordan, Bruce McPearson in Cali, McCain for Repubs and Gary Condit for the Dems [though like any Dems he is corrupt]) but for the most part they are different parties. Now, I feel that the Republicans are something the Democrats are not. Republicans (with the exception of the RINOs of coarse) still have convictions and are not as politically corrupt as Democrats are. Didn\'t say Republicans were perfect in their postitions, but certainly better then the Dems.

Now, voting Green, I\'d encourage it since at least the Greens are not corrupt as the Democratic Party is now. But, the best they can do now, is weaken the Democratic Party. The hope of coarse is that the Democratic Party listens and become more "liberal" (which I feel is the wrong direction for this country, which is another topic entirely) but in the mean time, it will only mean that it will help Republicans.
Opinions are not important.

ARe you kidding? I think you have it the other way around. The repubs seem to be the more corrupt ones.

Actually, the hope with the Green Party has absolutely nothing to do with making Democrats more liberal.  Not from my view of it at least.

And yes, Republicans are by far the most corrupt ones.  I\'d bet that for every corrupt practice you can name during all 8 years of the Clinton Administration, I can name 2 from the 2 years of the current Bush administration.  Republicans are by far the more corrupt ones.

But yes, they are the same party.  The party of rich America.  Both parties are controlled by the rich, and serve the rich.  That\'s the way it has always been, and the way it always will be if something doesn\'t change.

I agree that rich organizations and so forth have controlled the parties. And in a way, I agree with you on that point. That being said, the Republican Party has ALWAYS been the party supported by the rich people/corperations since, Republicans believe in less government (granted, not in all places [I\'m more of a Libertarian then a Republican]) espeically when it comes to taxes and regulations. True, that isn\'t always a good thing. And yes, they don\'t believe in small government across about especially the "Religious Right". I have some VERY sharp dissagreements with the "Religious Right" and the moralist of the party, but not everyone in the party is like them.

Unlike the Democrats though who, try and pass themselves as the party of the "little" people. They are supported by the unions, environmentalist, teachers, limosine liberals, and so on who are really trying to pass an agenda that doesn\'t help the very thing they are supposed to stand for. As for corruption, Recently, they have 10,000 lawyers to make sure that the votes go their way...ummmmmm...I mean that the votes are counted correctly. In New Jersey, Democrats completely disregared the law and sent in Frank Lautenburg to replace Torricelli desite the fact that the LAW stated that it was too late to replace the candidate. Also, the many unheard of fraud by dead voters and ballots floating in the San Francisco Bay, and the election debaucle in Florida tells me that the Democrats are very corrupt.

Now, I never said Republicans were innocent and always good (Richard Nixion is a good and obvious example). Just that in terms of corruption, at least you know what the Republican Party stands for. Democratic Party, is all over the place.

People that swing towards being a democrat say Republicans are more corupt.  And the switch with republicans saying the democrats are.  Isn\'t that obvious enough.

I think the Florida situation showed that the Republicans were corrupt.  However, what I think is even worse is that both sides took that situation, which was a bad one, no matter how you look at it, and tried to play off of it to get more support, instead of trying to fix the situation and make sure that it didn\'t happen again.

Yes, the Democrats do try to play themselves as the common man\'s party.  No, they aren\'t that...far from it actually.  But at least they are closer to it than the Republicans are.  I\'d rather vote for someone who is all over the place than someone who is steadily more conservative.  Then again, to be honest, I don\'t think I\'d ever vote for either.

Both parties are corrupt, neither speaks for the people.  I just wish that more people would see this, and have more faith in third party candidates, so that other views can be heard, and something can be changed.

I think that anyone high up in either party would sell their mother for support.

God damn, let\'s face it, THEY\'RE ALL CORRUPT!

You can\'t say that one group is bad, and another is good.  Their are good people in every party, and bad ones in there also.  It\'s just stupid to think that one is inherently good, and another inherently evil.

Every Green I have met is not corrupt.  Hell, look at Nader\'s most recent book title: How to tell the truth, and still run for president.  Oh, and Omen, if you want to fill something in for that "?" in you sig, you can go ahead and put the word "lost" there.

Yes! More power to the Green Party.

Yup. I\'m glad Republicans have won back the Senate, and kept the house. :D Again, never said Republicans is a great party (I prefer 3rd party too, but until they can somehow become more prominet, its currently the lesser of two evils for me [and the Republican Party to me is the EXTREMELY lesser of two evils]). Unforetuently, in California, people here basically said to themselves "hey, lets screw ourselves! Lets have higher taxes and more spending when we are already in deficit" and elected all Democrats in every State offices.

BTW, unlike the National Government, we have a state law that bars us from going into deficits. Democrat\'s plan to solve this is more taxes (when we already have one of the HIGHEST taxes in the nation already. More taxes will just force people out of the state and revenue will go even FUTHER down) and our borrowing rating is already in the crappers. All well, 4-more years of this, and MAYBE people here in California would be ready for a change.
