EDIT: mr. niceguy-edit.

Errr, NFS features the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, Ford, HSV, Aston Martin, Chrysler, Dodge, Porsche, BMW, Chevrolet, Jaguar, Mercedes, Vauxhall and Opel.

Notice all the big names in there?

Sure, its only speculation, but its a known fact that Polyphony have wanted to include damage since GT3. Because GT3 was such a massive seller, its the only logical step forward. The GT series is such a good publicity tool for car makers.

Perhaps one of the reason is none of the other games have such realistic looking models as the GT series....look at NFS:HP2. Despite being 1 to 2 years newer than  GT3, the graphics is not even on par with GT3. GT3 is THE place where you can find ALL(well, most) of the most famous cars on the planet where it actually LOOKS and DRIVES like one.

Maybe that is why the manufacturer won\'t allow damage in GT series. another reason could be to implement damage in GT3 takes up too much resource. As we know the physics in GT series is the most accurate anywhere and to implement damage AND accurate physics that is NOT a simple job. Most other games implement damages but the physics related to the damage is not quite accurate.

At any rate, I\'m looking foward for the next evolution in the GT series.

GT4 will kickass. Clowd, ralley\'s are in the Gran Turismo foundation so they probably won\'t drop it. Besides, the ralleys kick major ass and are a great change from the road racing. I own in rally\'s :D

They honestly need to secure the rights to do real-time damage. That was one of the main complaints from the series and people like me, honestly find the fact that it is suppose to be a "driving simulation" a tad distracting when there is no real time damage. If they can work the AI out and get real time damage, then I\'ll be excited, but until then I will file this one under \'yet another sequel\'.

This whole manufacturers don\'t want damage is a load of crock crap. Anyone played a NFS game? Not only do they have crappy sedans, they also have Ferrari\'s and the like, and all of these cars have damage.

Okay, so NFS features 15 car makers. Gran Turismo goes clearly beyond this number, featuring cars from Mercedes, Tommy Kaira, Mini, Toyota, Opel, Aston Martin, Jaguar.. the list goes on and on. If just one single car manufacturer refuses to see damage on their cars, you can forget it.

So much for calling it bullshit, lazyness etc... Clearly, you have no idea what manufacturers allow and what not.

seven, your a complete and utter dick, read back over my post and you will see you missed my point totally.

I said that its possible that a condition for having your car in GT4 is that you allow for damage. Like I said, GT is such a massive publicity machine its not funny. I am sure they\'ll be waving they\'re hands to get their cars in GT4, whether its got damage or not.

Unless you have a split personality or a classic case of Alzheimer, then the following is what you said:

Most manufacturers don\'t mind damage as long as its done properly and realistically.

Quote
I guarentee that 99%, if not 100% of all manufacturers approached would agree on using damage.

Its just an old excuse for dev\'s who can\'t be bothered putting in the man hours to create a decent damage model.

Huh, you were saying? Who\'s the dick now?

Whose the dick now seven? I clearly imply here that it could be part of the contract of having your car featured in GT4 if you allow damage.

that\'s highly doubtful, as Polyphony (more specifically Yamauchi) stated that they were able to build up a good relationship to the manufacturers over the time (GT: concept proves this). Them not wanting damage is something they had to accept, in order to maintain that good relationship. You however, blamed the developers in your first post for not wanting to put in the man hours to create a decent crashmodel [purely speculation] and speculating over what car manufacturers want to see and allow and what not.

If you really think the car manufacturers will be fighting to have their car included in GT, then I think you\'re living in a dreamworld. More so, it shows that you have absolutely no idea. Deal with the fact that there are manufacturers that don\'t want damage on their cars. It\'s really that simple.

And no, I\'m certainly not the dick here.
