If YOU Could Visit a Videogame World...
« on: December 08, 2002, 05:10:34 AM »
A little imaginary travelling here...

I couldn\'t get any sleep last night, and I just came out thinking how cool it would be to actually be able to personally explore a game universe... So, what would it be for you? I know how hard it is for people to pick just one thing when asked a question around here, so make it a top 3 if you like; what places would you want to see, what places would you want to visit? And why?

Hell, I\'ll make a top 3 too :

Number 1 choice
Final Fantasy VII :

How COOL would this be? I\'d start over at Midgar, and retrace the flow of the game, remembering the awesome adventures of Cloud & Co. My most wanted visits there would be Costa del Sol (taking some time off), Golden Saucer (I would OWN Cloud in that STUPID basketball game), Bugenhagen\'s observatory in Cosmo Canyon, Mt. Nibelheim, the City of the Ancients (with some flowers for someone who is no more *snif*)... aww, so many places I\'d love to see!

The timing of my visit would be a bit problematic... It would have to be after the real adventure we know has happened, BUT before "the big bang", so everything would be as we remember it... Or... well, most places would probably still be intact... \'ard! Anyways, definitely my number 1 choice.

Number 2
Skies of Arcadia :

More sights and wondrous locations than you can shake a full-grown giant oak tree at. Think of all the discoveries, some crazy cool stuff! Of course I\'d rent a fast, snazzy ship for myself and zoom all over the world at my leisure, again, going through most of the game as we know it while there. I\'m only hoping Aika hasn\'t gotten rid of that little hole in her bedroom wall... mmm... what? :p

Number 3
Silent Hill :

Call me crazy. There, happy now? This was initially my number 1 choice, as I lay awake at 4am. It\'s just that... well... I haven\'t killed anyone or have anything similarly evil on my conscience, so I wonder how the town would treat me? Maybe I\'d be just a passer-by. Of course, if I got there, I would dig up EVERYTHING I could, that would tell the world more about the history of Silent Hill, and what makes the place tick. Maybe if I dig deep enough, it would take notice of me and I\'d be in for some serious fun... gotta pack some heat...

And as for the time I\'d like to visit, it would be after the events of Silent Hill, so the town would be as in Silent Hill 2; a living entity. If you can call it that... well I can, hah!

I can\'t wait for Silent Hill 3 to shine a blood-red gloomy light on things once more, I really want to go back, again... Last night I finished Silent Hill 2 for the third time, and I realised how much I actually miss the place.

Vice City.

Need I say more?

I don\'t think so.
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Hyrule: The land of the Zelda games has always been an incredibly fun one to play in.  I\'d just love to visit the Zoras and take a swim, or visit Kakoriko Village.  Maybe shop in the Hyrule Market, and visit Lon Lon Ranch.  It\'d be fun.

Pokemon: Don\'t laugh.  Tell me it wouldn\'t be cool to be able to go out there, catch monsters, and train them into fighting machines.  In real life, I know I\'d like that.  It\'s one of the few games that anyone could actually participate in the game\'s activities, not just an exceptionally skilled marksman or swordfighter.

Final Fantasy 8 and 9: Like Unicron said, it would be great to visit Seed\'s Garden, and maybe even train to become a Seed.  So many other environments in the game seemed so inviting as well.  I loved some of the cities and such that were visited.  There would be endless amounts of things to do there.  The same goes for Final Fantasy 9.  Visiting Linblum and Alexandria, among other cities.  There were so many really inviting atmospheres.  Final Fantasy 7 was a great game as well, but its environments just wouldn\'t be as appealing to actually visit.

Do we get to keep skills we aquired there, when we get back? If so, I\'d choose any FF game. I think magic would be a nice skill to show off here. ;)

Hyrule is tied with a certain mansion that was infested with zombie\'s. Okay, I admit it. I just want to be trapped in a spooky mansion with the live-actress version of Jill (see: RE (psone) intro movie - note cute actress who portrays Jill! ) .

Oh please...

The CG version of Jill in GC RE was hotter...

:p

I\'d like to visit Shenmue since I am interested in visiting Japan...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Bah... that\'s the only thing the GCN version doesn\'t do better than the original Resident Evil.... stoopid CG!!!

Final Fantasy IX for mine.  Had some beautiful cities and spectacular sites in the game.

Being a SeeD would rock, as well.
