And no, I don\'t grow my own food. \'Millions\' of animals aren\'t killed by farming either. I can pull numbers out of my ass too. The number of animals that are killed by accident is much fewer than you murderers kill on purpose. And I would rather try my odds at running away from a large slow machine than be born and die with no chance to survive being force fed drugs.

Look at any timeline of human history, and you\'ll see for the vast majority of our time here on earth...as in maybe 99% of it, we were hunters and gatherers.  Meat has always been a main part of our diet.  We didn\'t kill with our teeth, but our teeth clearly are ideal for ripping apart meat on an already killed animal.

And yes, millions of animals are killed by farming.  And I\'m not pulling these numbers out of my ass.  You want sources?  How about the fact that 90% of the ten million pheasants born in the U.S. annually are killed by harvesting machines.  (source)  That alone is 9 million animals killed annually by harvesting processes, and that\'s only one species.  That doesn\'t even take into account the millions of rabbits, rodents, snakes, etc. that are also killed by agricultural combines.  So yes, millions, upon millions of animals are killed yearly to produce the vegetables you eat.  Then, you think you have the right to look down on those who eat meat?  At least the animals that died to make my meal aren\'t simply left to rot in the fields.

That isn\'t better.  Do you know how many animals are killed, accidentally or not, in the crop growing and harvesting process?  Or the types of effects the chemicals used on crops have on the surrounding environments.  I think eating meat is actually better.  That way you are at least doing something with the animals killed, not leaving them to rot, something that is done to the millions of animals killed yearly in the growing of these "natural" crops.

Humans are natural predators.  We were hunters long before we were crop growers.  To deny this is the only thing that\'s unnatural.

When you boil it all down, you vegetarians who think you\'re better than everyone else for not eating animals are simply ignorant, nothing more.

The second artical, which was a study originally in the Proceedings of Third Congress of the European Society for Agricultural and Food Ethics, 2001, projects that 1.2 billion animals are killed annually in the agricultural process that produces what a vegetarian eats, as compared to the 0.9 billion animals killed for the consumption of their meat.  By this study, eating meat is actually better for animals.  Makes ya think, doesn\'t it?

Exactly. Funny thing is I think it was PETA that was giving out free tofu turkeys around New Jersey at Thanksgiving (I heard this on the radio). People who actually tried them said it tasted like shit. They won\'t even feed them to the dogs. PETA also sent one up to Madden during the Thanksgiving game. I think he even wouldn\'t touch it.
