Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Don\'t you love those things?

They should mess with things that dont consern them. Cloning a human is no good for us. Why not use the money to feed the hungry, home the homeless, and more important things? A cloned human will do no good for society, if not make it worse. Millions of dollars are spent on useless junk, just because we are curious, while millions sleep outside in the rain.

We need to straitghen(sp?) our priorities out.

Chi Chi Chi Chia :D

I think cloning is alright. Not to use as organs though. They are human when they are cloned and should only be alright if they can live a life of a human. Not confined to a lab or some shit. I think we should do more research of the effects and stuff before we actually clone a human though.

They should have cloned those socks that are missing its partner before they cloned anything live.

Its true

Dolly the Sheep "the first" cloned

has Reduced Life span
along with the increase chance of Hereditary conditions

You see Cloning is like the Ultimate form of Inter Breeding

within out the slight Variation in  differences between "Brother/Sister".

European Royalty have been doing something like Cloning for Centuries and now look what has happend

Increased Mental Conditions etc etc ........

they are all more inter breed than Racer Horses

and as for the Band of Nutters that started it all

The Raelian movement is the founder of the Clonaid company which claims to have produced the first cloned baby.

The movement claims to have some 40,000 members in several countries, although the number is difficult to verify.

Rael is said to have moved to the US, alleging harassment by the French
The sect, which believes humans were created by extra-terrestrial beings who had mastered genetic engineering, was founded in France in 1973 by a former journalist who worked for a racing car magazine.

One December morning in 1973, journalist Claude Vorilhon was on his way to work in the French provincial town of Clermont-Ferrand.

But - according to a book written by Mr Vorilhon, who is now known as Rael - instead of going to the office, on an impulse, he drove to a nearby volcano.

International movement

There, he says, he was contacted by an extra-terrestrial being who emerged from a flying saucer and told him - in fluent French - that humans were created in laboratories by people from another planet.

The creators were known as the Elohim - a word which, in ancient Hebrew, meant "those who came from the sky".

It is used in Jewish prayers to refer to God.

Mr Vorilhon was told to spread the word of the Elohim on Earth in preparation for their return.

He describes them as being little over a metre in height, with pale green skin, almond-shaped eyes and long dark hair.

Since then the Raelians have grown into an international movement. Rael himself has reportedly relocated to the United States after complaining of harassment by the French authorities.

Eternal life

The Raelians\' interest in cloning seems to stem from their belief that the human soul perishes when the body dies.

Therefore, they believe, the key to eternal life is not the soul but the recreation of individuals from their DNA.

In 1997 the group founded Clonaid, which now says it has cloned a human being.

In 1990 the Raelians changed their symbol, originally a Swastika inside a Star of David.

The idea was to improve relations with Israel and persuade the government there to let them build an embassy for the Elohim in Jerusalem.

Some on should tell members of this Cult, that most Cults end with the Male members Castrating themselves and then to finish it all its Mass Suicide time so that they can "board the MotherShip"

Ah only in America can this sort of thing start

When I was in LA (Santa Monica to be exact) I was in some outside shopping mall and this guy tried to tell me that I was a selected member of some unique race. He was from Rael because he gave me his card.

He was a full on freak, my mum got really angry at him cause we are Christian and she went mental.

Honestly though, the Rael guy looks like Gandalff from Lord Of The Rings.

IMO, I hope this baby, if it even exists, dies.

This comming from a Christian eeehhh

That’s why I am a Lapsed Roman Catholic but still believe in Spiritual aspect of life, remember Religion is a concept devised by man and as a result it can be manipulated and distorted by the people in power of that religion  (Taliban, etc )

and Please before someone points out

RELIGION and BELIEF are to separate points

Religion = origination
Belief  = the faith in a God/ higher being / after life etc

i am sorry but i wouldn\'t be surprised if this Cloning is just a PR Stunt desinged to give this CULT some PrimeTime Air.

i mean For Fook Sake noone(not the member) even heard ofthis cult before the announcemanet was made *coff*PR Stunt *coff* *Coff*

Although Identical twins look very much alike, that is where the similarity ends. The diferences in the DNA of identical twins is probably not much different to the differences in yours and mine. The reason why they look alike is because they were formed from the same egg. After the egg separates, they grow independantly.

Just because they are from the same egg, it doesn\'t mean they are truely identical......Identical twins are born when one egg seperates, and is then penetrated by 2 sperm cells. A clone by definition, is a life form that is created by taking cells from a host , due to this it will have all the attributes and physical and mental abilities/disabilities.

I have "identical" twin sisters, and from my experience, they are as different as chalk & cheese. There are also subtly differences in their appearances, differences that most people might not see, but to a person who has such siblings, the differences are as clear as clear can be

More info on why cloned animals are having problems. I took this from another forum.

The problems that you mention with Dolly are due to the telomeres on the ends of it\'s DNA. They comprise something of a clock for cell activity. After each division one of the telomeres is shed. After all the telomeres are shed the cell dies. So yes, what we may see in some of these clones is a problem with premature cell death. In order to produce a clone properly, we would have to either figure out how to reset the telomeres or more interestingly, treat the DNA with telomerase before implantation. Telomerase essentially stops the strand from shedding telomeres. It can then divide infintely. Maybe this would in itself cause problems? Or maybe you could end up with an organism that does not experience age related tissue degeneration. I\'m not saying that you end up with an immortal organism, I\'m just thinking that you might end up with an organism who\'s tissues do not decline as rapidly in old age...

1. Would a telomerase enabled organism experience this tissue degradation?
2. Would this activity naturally lead to cancer or could other mechanisms of cell death keep this in check.
3. If other mechanisms can control it, would the organism have a greater propensity for getting cancer?
4. Would hormonal and other genetic triggers still cause the organism to die "on time" or would there be a net increase in lifespan?
