I\'m hoping that Polyphony make some advances in the handling stakes. it would be nice if i could choose a more \'sim like\'
handling model, seeing as this should be a \'Racing Simulator\'. wheel lockups whilst getting on the brakes hard is a
must do. this would stop a lot of cheating as drivers who attack too much would just simply understeer and slide off into the barriers.
i\'d expect it to be asking for too much for GT4 to include realtime damage so there must be another subsitute to encorage
players to take the correct line and compete in the way that everyday races would in real life. something like GT2002 on
the X-Box, I quite like it in the fact that you get part malfunctions, blown turbos, exhaust faliures etc... and if you knock other
cars whilst in the race, you loose your bonus prize money that you would have gotten for a clean \'Bump Free\' run.
I believe that Polyphony could use the basis and improve it. what about performance loss, slippy tires once you hit gravel
(until you clear the tyres), dead spots on the tyres (e.g. when you lock up the wheels and skid you make a flat spot
on the tyre that produces vibration and poor handling), blown gaskets/manifolds etc.. all selectable under difficulty settings.
This would add a great deal for the \'Real Racing Sim\' fans.
There is an excelent example of Racing Physics in an addon for F12002 (PC) and it\'s called GT2002 (
http://www.simmods.com )
now this has the best physics in a car game ever! imho. it displaces Grand Prix Legends as the most realistic sim
and quite simply takes it to another level. so if you have...
1: A copy of F1 2002
2: Decent Speed Internet Connection
3: A Steering Wheel (Reccomended by myself)
Then go download it.. you will be surprised at what these guys have done with F12002.
