Interesting..........
« on: January 26, 2003, 07:45:32 AM »
I rented a DVD yesterday and it didnt work on my PS2. The sound as there but the picture was not there. I change to another DVD and the picture was there. I tested the dvd on my computer and it worked.
So I just thought this is a DVD that the PS2 can play.
I had never seen a DVD that hasent worked on my PS2.

But I managed to get it to work. I just took out the memorycard(with DVD routines) and the DVD worked perfect. The remote doesnt work but I can live with that.

So have anyone else solved unplayeably DVD in this way?

My friend has had a problem with DVDs in his PS2 for a little bit now.  The picture runs faster so that his audio playback is off.  He also recently bought some new anime DVDs  and they dont work at all on the system.  Of course the do work perfectly fine on normal DVD player.

All he has to do is pause the game for a fraction of a second, and it\'ll go back to normal.  :)

I have that problem with mine.

That\'s why I am surprised sony hasn\'t kept releasing updated DVD drivers. The last updates were those that came with the official remote which is at least 12 months ago.
