Bah, Japan isn\'t THAT far ahead of us. Usually, I tend to think of our two countries as being on even ground.

The US is relant on building new inventions based on new discoveries, then makes new products that noone has ever thought of before.

Japan takes those ideas and refines them, miniatureizes them, and then combines them with other products.

Not to say that\'s how it always works, but that seems to be the general trend. The best products on the market now (including Videogames) are ingenious combinations of American ingenuity and Japaneese expertice.

Adan- Hahaha. ;)

Seriously with as much talent as an average Photoshopper has, I don\'t think anyone will believe a transparent suit is real by seeing a pic on the net.  Even a downloadable video will have a lot of skeptics.

Sonyfan- I totally agree with your assesment.  The only reason Japan is so technolgically advanced is because their country is small (internet & networking infrastructure is a breeze to setup there, which is why just about everyone is on broadband) and they don\'t have to fund a military. ;)

Sounds interesting. The picture doesn\'t impress me though. I do agree that Japan is ahead in terms of technology. Japan is the leading industrial country in the world, as simple as that.

The thread I took this info from in another forum, the general consensus seems to be that this is a demonstration of "green screen" technology and how they are trying to apply it without the "green screen" This however is not a *true* invisibility cloak, but they are working on it and looks promising.

Personally, I think this shouldnt even be pursued. Think of what could be done if even just 5 of the wrong ppl got their hands on this.

Hey, I might be able to sneak into the girls locker room with one of those :D . But seriously, there are probably a lot of uses for that. Militarily and in our every day lives.
