I can\'t necessarily blame Bush for the way the economy is now... I can say that he could have done a much much better job at handleing it.. but this road we\'re on was paved a long long time ago. If you really wanna blame someone, blame Regan and his outrageous Cold-War paranoia military buildup which skyrocketed our nation debt from around 1.2 trillion dollars to almost 4 trillion dollars within 8 years. Granted, it helped stop the Cold War as Russia\'s economy collapsed trying to keep pace with us.. but Russia\'s downfall was comming. All Regan\'s efforts did was hasten the enevitable.
No matter which way you look it at.. our economy was headed south anyhow - and 9/11 coupled with our ensueing wars and beefing up internal security jus worsened it. We should have been doing this all along.. and spread that cost out.. but instead we\'re trying to do it all in just a few short years and it\'s biting us in the ass.
I also don\'t blame Clinton for Saddam or Osama Bin Laden. After all, it was Regan/Carter who trained and helped finance the SOB to help us fight against the Iranians in the late 70\'s early 80\'s. They should have known his background before handing over millions of dollars and loads of high-tech weaponry. After our fight was over.. he should have been disposed of... or at least monitered very closely. All Clinton is guilty of in that respect, is following precidence.
As for Saddam.. I want to hear what "evidence" the US has against him before really commenting. He should have been disposed of the first time around.. as we had promised to the Iraqi Rebel forces who guided our Special Ops forces around Iraq to help take out many vital targets. Instead, we left them at the mercy of a brutal regeime who we knew would hunt them down and kill them. Protection for those rebels should have been one of the conditions of surrender.. but it wasn\'t. At least that way, if we knew he was actively hunting them down, we\'d have reason to go in and remove Saddam early on.
Stop blaming this on just Clinton, just Bush, or just anyone. The position we\'re in now is a culmination of very bad decisions stemming back to Jimmy Carter and even earlier.
