Well, there\'s lots of little graphical effects I didn\'t go into depth about.  Explosions from buildings and units cause splash damage, albeit minimal.  Certain buildings can fall down and injure your units, or even better, destroy theirs. ;)  I once had a nice little encounter on the 2nd US mission where I knocked down a large guard tower that crushed a GLA building and several units underneath it.  On the other hand, earlier in that same mission, I lost a humvee and six men from another guard tower on the other side of the level.  Plus, objects between your units and theirs impede your fire such as buildings being too tall for Cruise Missiles to fire over, impacting on the side of the wall, and damaging your own units such as the scout drones and whatnot.  There\'s a lot of neat little details that are just fun to discover and a lot of the times, purely by accident. :)
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

Ryu great assesment about the USA, but China is better imo.

Some gameplay tips:

- EA logs each win/loss you make on P2P multiplayer and it\'s stored on their servers so if you\'re a n00b be sure to play a person with a similar record as yours for a good match.

- There\'s one big flaw in multiplayer which is making a 4 player game which a team of 3 set up; 2 play as a team and the other is a decoy.  A guest comes in and joins teams with the decoy.  So when the game starts the decoy leaves the game and now it\'s a 2 vs 1 game, allowing cheaters to get an easy win.  Somewhat like pausing the NFL game on the PS2 if you\'re gonna lose in hopes the real winner will forfeit the match.

- As Ryu pointed out soldiers are much stronger in this C&C so don\'t be afraid to make a ton of Rocket doods and rangers with flashbangs.

What\'s everyone\'s record?  I\'m about 5-0 right now but am getting lucky wins since my teammates are more experenced.

Bringing up old threads. ;)

I got my dirty little hands on this game.

It\'s wicked. Runs fine on my machine at very high details. Has little pauses once in awhile. Normally for a split second before a massive explosion, but apart from that the game rocks. Very fun game indeed, I\'m doing the china campaign atm (first campaign) and finding it very well done. Can\'t wait to try out the scud missiles.
Using building or other vehicles to destroy the enemy is great. Shooting down towers will wipe out a fair amount of troops and armoured vehicles if done right. Great fun. I found the Migs to be a great for huge groups of troops or armoured vehicles.

I used to have little stutters on the cutscenes, but after I added an extra 512 on my RAM it runs smooth.

I found out poking around the official forum that you can use command switches to skip the movie intros.

China \'s gatling tank is great.  And the USA commanches are my favorite unit.
This is America and I can still pay for sex with pennies

I\'ve a XP 1800 oc\'ed to XP2000, 256MB RAM, GF2TI and it runs S-L-O-W. Still playable but just too slow compared to WC3. Also, with out a DX8.1 card (GF2 is only DX7), the graphics looks pretty bland.

Well, I\'m not upgrading my system anytime soon as I\'m eyeing an XBOX after the E3 price drop.

Just bought an ATI 9100 to run C&C and it\'s great!!! Now I can play everything in HIGH quality at 1024x768x32!!

Anyway, I like China too. With 2 overlords with Propoganda and 3 overlords with Gattling gun. Add about 3 more smaller tanks/guns and you\'re virtually indestrutible as long as you don\'t rush into an ambush.

Oh yeah...and the XBOX can wait. Hee-hee.

Resurrecting an ancient thread.  I just got this game, and I\'ve played through the US and Chinese single player missions.  They go too fast.  However, I just spent the last couple days trying to figure out how to beat the final Chinese mission.  That was a hard one.

In spite of the improved graphics, I still think Red Alert 2 / Yuri\'s Revenge is a better game.  I am a C&C freak and I\'ve played just about every C&C variation.  I think RA2/YR is the summit of the series.  I like this game anyway, but it\'s such a resource hog, and RA2 is just as much fun or maybe more so.

I could go into more detail, but why?  I\'m sure you\'ve all played this already.

I kinda got more of a fun factor from Red Alert as well.

My favorite thing to do is to use those :ghey: trainers that give you infinite power, money, instant buildings, units, experience, etc...  vs like 3 Hard armies.  Just satisfying see the stuff you create be able to defend itself.

I play single player skirmishes on RA2, and I think I\'ve been playing against hard AI.  I do turn on the "goodies" chests or whatever they\'re called, and I generally run it with superweapons turned on.  (I learned to build my bases very decentralized so they can\'t take out very much with a Nuclear missile.)

One thing that amazed me about Generals is that the AI on your own units is not any smarter than it was under the previous games.  When you try to drive a column of tanks through a narrow bottleneck, invariably some of the tanks at the back decide they\'re going to go first, and the ones at the front wait for them to pass,... then there are always a few that decide they can\'t go through that way, so they reverse direction and start driving the long way around.  Incredibly stupid in my opinion.  Seems like it would have been an easy thing to fix too...
