I have wondered many times if psx2central has many visits. Sometimes I can notice I reload the page lots of times in order to update a thread or check if someone has replied to a determined message. So I was wondering how many visits has this web daily... what\'s the record?

So, is it possible to insert in the web a counter of daily/total visits? I think more than one would be impressed by the traffic this foums/web have.

i think its difficult to keep a count of the real traffic because as far as i know the webcounters often overcount the visitors even if they ignore hits of the same IP within specified time periods.
however it remains a good idea to estimate the daily traffic of the site...

it is possible. Everything is possible after all...
What is needed, is the knowledge to search and apply the foundings. A web counter in the first page ONLY (and of course IP sensitive) would be a good idea.

in the first page? Many people has a link to the forums, or to any specific forum, like me (to main forum)...

that makes thinks difficult...I mean, the countings are going to be unreliable.
I last used web counters is some sites 2 years ago and since then i dont know what progress has been made in visitors counting.
Maybe the new counters run scripts to ignore many hits of the same ip even if made in different pages of the site. That would make the counting extremely accurate.
I have really lost track on webcounters the last 2 years. I should stop here as anything i say can be used against me :)

ps: or shouldnt i ?
