Need Help From PS2 Users!

Hi!  I am doing a doing a Sony PS2 market survey and need your help – I am doing this survey for a paper I am writing for my Antitrust class (a class which deals with the competitive market and companies who skew that market), and hence I need Sony PS2 buyers (which you all are) to give me some feedback about why you purchased your PS2, what competition you feel the PS2 faces, and what differences in the market would have persuaded you to buy something else.  There is a list of questions below – please answer each of them to the best of your ability – Responses by March 24th would be great.

This survey is 100% confidential and complete honesty is appreciated – I do not work for any sort of business, survey company, or other sort of corporate enterprise – I am a PS2 user myself who just wants to write a good paper.  Thanks for your feedback!

Questions:

1. What one or two factors most influenced your decision to buy a PS2?

2. What other options (e.g. GameCube, Xbox, PS1, computer) did you consider before purchasing your PS2?

3. Did you purchase any other systems in addition to the PS2?  If so, why?

4. What price did you pay for your PS2 (excluding tax)?

5. What price would you have considered too much for the PS2 (meaning, at what price would you have NOT purchased your PS2)?

6. If the PS2 was that price, would you have bought another system or simply not purchased a system as all?

7. If you would have bought another system – which one?

8. Did you own a PS1?

9. Do you have a computer in your house? (If no, go to #13)

10. Do you play games on both your computer and your PS2?  Or just your PS2?

11. Do you find playing games on your computer comparable to playing games on your PS2?  If not, what’s the difference?

12. How much extra investment (in $) in your computer would it take to make your computer comparable to your PS2?

13. Whether you have a computer or not, if the Playstation2 began to produce hard drives, keyboards, and the like, would you consider purchasing/using a PS2 instead of a computer?  Why or why not?
